that looks gorgeous...!

I agree, it don't "need" a drop, but i think a little bit would improve the looks even more. KW coilovers for looks and performance!

Just did mine the same. Driven for a day/60 miles, did not rub once.

I was more concerned about whether it would follow ruts and be less stable on uneven pavement. No issue there either.

One inch wider track, zero downside so far.

austinauflick,

Car looks great with the spacers

I just purchased a Black 507 Coupe and I am considering doing the same thing

I would also like to go with a bit wider tire after the originals wear out for a meatier look

So you went with 12mm spacers front and rear?

That's correct sir - 12mm all the way around. Although I did order H&R springs that will be in Tuesday and I also ordered 10mm spacers for the rear. So there will be a little difference in setup come next week.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Please keep me updated on your H&R springs installation and the new spacers. Can't wait to see what it looks like!

I recently installed H&R sport springs on my 507 sedan. (btw used stock spring pads - I dont think it needs the 17mm pads).

It's a mild drop - certainly a noticeable difference and "takes the edge off" the stock ride height. Drove it hard home from the shop and the ride quality is about the same as stock.

Debating spacers since I might go up to 265s in the rear.

I'll prolly rock the springs for a few months or so then go with coilovers. It could still go a bit lower without being slammed.

My favourite wheels for the C63, I would take these over any hre, adv.1...

I would not drop the car on springs or coilovers, your going to make the ride quality worse. I have had several sports cars with modified suspension and they Never ride the same after.

Its perfect the way it is! Looks awesome!

^^ Really? HRE > 507 anyday for me LOL ... especially considering the price of the 507 wheels new from the stealership. The 507 are nice wheels, but the offset & width are too conservative.

As for the H&R springs, you gotta experience it... it's actually not so bad as far as ride quality. I feel it rides as nice as stock.

To replace the 507 wheel with a good quality wheel is like 8 grand think I will stick with the stock wheels

I agree about the suspension not being modified unless you go with coil overs that are remotely adjustable from the cockpit. That would be the only suspension mod I would do.

Agreed, and I still stay with the 19" AMG wheels. If the C63 was a Japanese "Tuner" car than sure... but its NOT. Its a classy car. I am not sure about these 08'-09' sedans but my 2012 P31 coupe is already fairly low in stock form and the suspension is super sharp! Its very impressive really.

I am not discrediting h&r springs at all as I had a set of them 15 years ago on my FD rx7 and they were very good. As good as stock... no way. The car launched way harder and handled better stock.

I almost went with an aftermarket wheel/suspension set up last week on my P31 Coupe but I backed out. I will save the aftermarket wheels for a set of TE37 Ultimate for R35.

I don't notice that big of a gap. I feel a bump here and there that is more jarring, but have been driving hard on these springs and they feel like stock. Granted, I'm not tracking, just streets and canyons.

I acknowledge there is likely a performance tradeoff from stock, but I personally am after a lower stance so it's worth it for me. Coilovers are next on the short list

To each their own I guess. The OEM suspension is enough if you don't plan on tracking the car frequently.

I thought remote controlled coilovers only allow adjustment of rebound and compression settings? Not height?

Yes that is what I meant. Would be great to be able to adjust the ride so you could have a smooth ride when you wanted it and it really stiff suspension when you need it. Ride height remain constant.
