I think they are the same as the old P31 and only slightly different than non-P31 (and non-507) cars in that the front rotors are two-piece vs. solid. Rest of the brake system is the same...other than caliper color of course.

Remembered more stuff looking at the Dealer Order Guide.
Hi,
If memory serves me right, I think the difference between the 507 pkg and old Dev/Perf package are 19inch wheels as the default (Alloy or Black), Black Gloss/Carbon Fiber Trim options, designo Magno Platinum Paint, Acceleration Lines (stickers that a few here have removed) and Black Series hood. Did the Dinamica Seat option and shifter lever with the Affalterbach crest come in the old pkg? There was a "conversation" on this board about the difference between the 507 pkg and P31. Essentially, most thought it was a great deal with the wheels, paint and Black Series hood.
Here is a link from Car and Driver talking about the Dev Pkg: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ment-pack-test
Hope this helps

OP, I apologize upfront for a small thread jack. Has anyone driven both a normal (stock) 2012+ C63 and a 507? If so, what are the seat of the pants differences? Not the difference in the engine internals, or the 507 hp vs. 451 hp, rather in daily aggressive driving do you feel a difference? Thanks.

My car screams in that high range, but you don't get to tap into that high end band on every drive (if you want to keep your license).

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
I would suggest that it would take a VERY good man to discern the difference in performance between a P31 & a 507, even though there is supposed to be a 20HP difference.
Someone spoke about a dyno test between these two cars & a BS?...Haven't seen it yet.
Cheers, Pickles.

I can tell you the diff between non p31 and p31 from owning both, and p31 definitely impacts high end above 5k as described above. There is some debate as to the real difference between p31/507/BS, someone was organizing a dyno day, hopefully it happens.

As far as the difference goes with acceleration, the only true test would be to do a side-by-side comparison. I know there is a youtube video showing a P31/non-P31 and P31/non-P31 with tune comparison. Essentially, the tuned non-P31 and P31 have the same performance.

I would expect (and in fact noticed) a high-end difference between the P31 and "standard" motor because the rotating assembly is like 6 lbs. lighter (I think), so the character of the motor is a tad livelier and faster-revving, etc. But between P31 and 507, my gut is that there is really no difference...just that the stated HP is less conservative than it was. I have never seen a dyno comparison, so no flames please, but I am just skeptical about the "more power" claim. Having said that, I think the wheels on the 507 are worth like $5K to me personally and the hood another $1K (again in my own mind)...so it seemed worth it even with no real performance advantage.

On the daily comute? Not so much.
Whenever the road opens up? Frequently. There is an exhaust "bark" when you upshift on the rev limiter which is really addictive. Combine that with the fact that the world has gone a little blury at that point, and that 5k+ rpm band gets explored whenever the opportunity presents.
