Blacking out emblems
As title says... Soo I bought plasti dip today. I guess this weekend I'm gonna plasti dip the front grill, front LED fog strips, and rear emblems. Do you guys think it will look off? Should I do the trunk strip or side 6.3 badges? My car is iridium silver. And it's p31 so I have the CF trunk lip, red brakes, and black front diffuser. Just so you guys can get a mental image.
Thanks!!!

It was painted which does result in occasional touch up of the grill and fogs.
I'm not sure if plasti dip holds up well in the sunlight over time. It also does not look as consistent as paint (a little cheaper looking).
I'm one of the few who has done both. My old grill had to be replaced, but was good enough to plastidip and hand in my gym as decoration. The paint look better IMO.

I've done all rear badges, mb badge and chrome strip with plastidip, and also did the front grill and led fogs. It looks good although for some reason it never turns out 100% to my liking.

You could get most of the emblems already in black for like 10$ on ebay.
But if that's not an option, i'd say black out everything, but leave a little contrast. Don't do the side emblems, black out all the badges on the back, fog light housing, and maybe just the strips on the grille, not the star and the surrounding chrome. Keeps it classy but still mean, just my opinion, did it on my 09 barolo red c63 sedan, and now did it on my 13' white coupe.

When you go to mask off around your emblems, use tape and drape and go much bigger than you think as over spray is pretty bad. Either that, or be prepared to clay bar the car after to remove the over spray.
Also, take off the rear trunk star emblem. I have tried 3 times to do it on the car and have failed everytime. When you peel out the inner pie shaped sections, it always extends onto the star.
Good luck.

I have an '09 Iridium silver that was tastefully blacked out (grill, badges, trim, side markers, fogs, etc.) by the previous owner. I'll post a pic later (or look at my pic albums). It was painted which does result in occasional touch up of the grill and fogs. I'm not sure if plasti dip holds up well in the sunlight over time.
