Thanks for that info. Finding the fuse layout was a pain. I agree, obviously grasping at straws. It goes into the service center on the 6th.

Just a quick update on this issue. It turned out that the O2 sensors where not only crossed, bank 1/2 but they were in the wrong positions, basically flipped.

Once the service tech at European Auto Solutions figured out, the CEL was cleared.

Just wish the cables below had been marked (R)right (L)left, etc.

Thanks to everyone that commented on what to check and for.

I had the exact same issue with my MBH exhaust (with CATs) install, the shop had bank 1 and bank 2 wires crossed the flipped (wideband O2 was incorrectly installed in the post CAT O2 slot.)

This is the issue with my ride right now, its throwing this code as well as another for "open circuit left bank"
I cant find a solution.

Hmm, I'd recommend trying to address the P0040 code first, its possible that the "open circuit" code could be a red herring and might resolve itself. If the open circuit error persists then it might be a bad O2 or some kind of wiring problem.

Reviving an old thread...

Originally had the code (forgot which one exactly) indicating bank 1 sensor 1 upstream had failed. Replaced both upstream sensors (because of vehicle's age and mileage) on this past Friday and am now receiving the P0040 error code. I used the OEM sensors from Bosch, part number 17016. Car is a 2010 and has over 140,000 miles as my daily driver.

On December 4, 2018, the OP on this thread posted an update and mentioned a "wrong position" to fix the code issue, but not sure what "wrong position" meant or how that fixed the issue..

I have MBH headers, installed in 2017, with no CATS and have never had an O2 sensor issue before. A follow up OBD also now shows P2414 and P2196. Neither of those were in the original OBD scan before I replaced with the Bosch OEM sensors.

Any ideas on how to resolve? Should I replace both down streams also? Will that perhaps clear the codes?
TIA
