Differential Circlips thickness Help!!

Differential Circlips thickness Help!!
Hi everyone

I m just regarding is there any circlips thickness difference between left & right side? I was mix the left and right side components up..How stupid I am !!!

If the thickness is different, please tell me:


A2303500349 bearing side-??? thickness


A2303500249 bearing side-??? thickness

the circlips are the same size but the bearings themselves are different thickness, Try searching " Quaife LSD" install there a few blogs on the subject. \hope this helps.

Incorrect, the circlips are in fact different from left to right...

I'll have to check which side has the thicker one

It was the circlips, installed them in the wrong side. (Make sure you mark them to indicate left & right side as the thickness is different)
Left thickness: 4.1mm
Right thickness: 4.2mm
putting them in the incorrect sides was enough to create the whining noise.

The circlips of mine, one is 4.0mm other one 3.9mm

4.0mm and 3.9mm

What kind of tool do you use to get the circlips out? I just bent a pair of needle nose pliars trying to and the circlip didn't budge, James.
