2008 Mercedes C63 AMG w/ Kleemann Headers and Custom X-Pipe from GMP Performance
No matter how perfect an AMG comes factory, there's always room for improvement and a common area our Mercedes customers love to improve is the exhaust. Providing both performance and sound benefits, you can get the best of both worlds with one upgrade. The owner of this 2008 C63 came to us to receive those benefits, courtesy of Kleemann, with some long tube headers. Also on the exhaust to do list was a custom X-pipe and center muffler delete, done here in house.
Parts Installed:
Mercedes AMG 63 Long Tube Kleemann Headers
Custom X-pipe and Center Muffler Delete
The Build
Kleemann Long Tube Headers
OEM Exhaust

Cats removed
Oem exhaust with cats
Kleemann long tube headers
Left side header pipe being test fitted
Right side Kleemann headers installed
Installation of oxygen sensor bungs
Exhaust collectors installed with oxygen sensors
Custom X-pipe and center muffler delete
Stainless Steel U-bends
With drivers side pipe removed from stock cat we test-fit the cat section to take measurements and found fitment issues with the headers.
The ball seat on the Kleemann header is too large for the stock socket to fit
You can see here how the socket will not sit on the ball correctly and this the clamp will not fit
This illustrates how far to the drivers side the exhaust is being pushed by the Kleemann header
Kleemann adapter pipe fitted to drivers side (where it belongs)
Kleemann adapter pipe fitted to passenger side to show that it fits the same
The Kleemann adapter pipe's socket is significantly larger than the stock one
The Kleemann adapter pipe's socket is significantly larger than the stock one, the stock pipe fits entirely inside the Kleemann one

Looks sweet. Nice job. Almost looks easy ;-) I am sure the sound is just as amazing..
Question, the 2nd O2 bung, was there a minimum distance between them? Also any CEL due to no cats?
