I have a 2009 E63, 61K miles, no warranty, recently bought at Mom & Pop dealer As Is, failure occurred 2 days after leaving lot under mild driving. Sucks to be me.
(This is my 2nd E63, prior one was 2008 pre-owned with 60K miles, drove till 95K miles, hard, tracked, no issues, thought these engines were bullet proof until now, silly uneducated me)
2 head bolts confirmed broken. I had the classic white James Bond smoke screen occur while driving on a side street at low speed. Prior 2 days before that it was requiring lots of coolant, but never overheated as I kept filling it up, (I was clueless), it all happened over 48 hours, once the coolant leak occurred / smoke screen I shut it down in less than a mile with no overheating after the seal broke. Had it towed back to dealer.
Dealer is offering to cost share, having their service mechanic replace all the head bolts with new Mercedes ones, replace spark plugs, new oil. What are chances this could solve the problem? Love the car, but don't have thousands to dump into a $25K car I just purchased.
Appreciate feedback.

Im going to check out a C63 Monday and curious if this car has the plagued head bolt issue. Can someone please run the vin for me please? Maybe even get a datacard for this vehicle? Thank you so much in advance.

If anyone's curious, these are what my original headbolts looked like when replaced in my 2009 C63 with 114,000km on it. Two on the right have been degreased. They were in decent condition and I had plenty of time to have them replaced, but I'm glad it's done with now and I don't need to worry about it. You can definitely see the corrosion starting, though
