P0171 codes x 3 in 2013
i got P0171 three times last year - where the last 2 were about one month a part.. car is stock/CPO. dealer just replaces the evap/purge valve and its gone.. i'm worried that when the CPO expires and i still get this code, would they charge me $$$ not sure what else to tell them.. they just tell me that when it comes back, just bring it in and they'll fix it.

Any aftermarket filters?
Basically vacuum leak (airbox not seating properly,faulty/dirty MAFs, faulty PCV valve, intake manifold gasket) , faulty fuel pump/rail sensor, purge valve could cause this code to show up.
For piece of mind extend your CPO warranty if possible. When will it expire?

I would have thought that given there is a clear service department history of this being a recurring fault that it should still be covered once warranty expires?? After all MB are clearly not fixing it if it keeps occurring, plus you could argue that the individual "fixes" should have their own warranty attached to them as is the case with any repair work carried out by MB with approved parts.

does it whistle? when my intake manifold was done it whistled like mad, yeah the part isn't cheap (around 3-4k)..but all things considered the intake manifold is cheap compared to what the body parts of these cars cost.
my service guy at MB said within 1-3 yrs they'll do a recall on the intake manifold because I guess in pre 2011 car's the intake manifold had a design issue or something, not entirely sure but the tech said that usually it happens after 100,000KM, and with the new intake manifold the issue is fixed (thankfully)
