2000 C280
New Owner of a 2010 C63

Hi All, I'm new to the W204 C63, but not new to this forum. I used to own a 2000 C280 (W202) about 10 years ago, and got a lot of good advice and help on fixing/customing it up right on this forum.

Fast forward 10 years of buying/selling the C280 -->Audi A4-->Saab 9-3 Aero-->BMW 530i (all in stick shift, except the C280), I'm back full circle in a Mercedes Automatic. I know there is quite a difference between the C280 and C63, which I have yet to find out.

The C63 was in an accident before I bought it (and has not yet been repaired), but there was no airbag or side curtain deployments, the seatbelt pyros didn't go off, and the engine bay seems fine. There was damage to the driver side fender, bumper, hood, and support structure behind the bumper, which tore the serpentine belt. I haven't started the car yet, but I want to start pricing out the surrounding structure, fender, hood, and bumper. Looking around on-line, I'm going to spend at least $3-4K on parts alone. It seems that prices are 2-3X as much for C63 parts.

Anyone have any advise on what the best place to get parts at a reasonable price. I'm OK with salvage yards and/or OEM suppliers. I even see some sponsors here that I have yet to check out.

I plan to save some money on the labor by doing the work myself. BTW, I've built/rebuilt many motorcycles and several cars, and I have a degree in Aeronautics, which includes an Airframe and Powerplant license, so I can say I'm somewhat mechanically inclined.

Thanks in advance for your help. I will make sure to post build progress once I get rolling.

Welcome and Good luck for your project!
I hope the damages are not as bad as it seems.
A good place for you to start would parts.com or getmercedesparts.com .
They sell OEM equipment at reasonable prices.
Another source of parts would ebay or ebay.de or like you said slavage yards. Google it to find out what's available in your area.
Another way of finding parts is the classified section of this site where people part out their C63.

I'm calling out member Merc63 as he still have some parts available in his garage

Thanks abcut973, much appreciated. There is a 10 day hold from the impound yard I bought the car from. I'll post pictures once I have the car in my possession (they wouldn't let me take pictures because the impound yard is also where the police store their towed cars).

Mind me asking what you paid? I am looking for a wrecked c63 for a 1965 AMC Rambler project I'm working on.
