Not to be bias since I'm a HRE fanboy.

But I feel ur pain Kriston (if ur story is true about Creg @ HRE). If he accepted the exchange 3 months ago w/o a receipt, than he should keep his words. I do understand receipt is mandatory for most exchange in life, but the wheels are brand new.. U can ship them to HRE first so they can verify authenticity, they are wheels expert they can recognize their own wheels vs replica.

Hi Ros,

I love HRE wheels, I especially like the P40's and the FF01 style! that's why I still want to use them.

I have all the emails to confirm my story. You are right, as I mentioned earlier, I even offered to ship the wheels back to HRE first to ensure they are okay.

I just view the receipt as a technicality at this point, this is partially why I am a bit disappointed.

Either way I am dropping the wheels off today to be re-drilled. Wish me luck!

I wouldn't redrill them, get the receipt from the vendor is easier.

I suppose that is a valid viewpoint for some but to me this is basic business acumen, regardless of what Gary at HRE said I personally would have been 100% under the expectation that a receipt is a mandatory part of any transaction. The only real blame is that HRE did not explicitly state up front that a receipt is required, this is a relatively minor communication issue but it does not change their actual business practices around wheel exchanges.

If anything HRE's adherence to proper business practice is to be commended for various reasons mentioned earlier... vs some of those other wheel guys out there (you know who you are).

Its fairly simply actually, I will get the wheels back in a week.

I will post pictures once I get the wheels back.

I went ahead and ordered my tires as well, Followed your recommendation Matt and Ros.

225 / 35 / 19 - Front
255 / 30 / 19 - Rear

Tires are Advan Sports.

So the question becomes: Is it your fault to not think of the receipt issue 3 months ago? Or is it HRE's?
this

in these days of fax, email, credit cards with online access to records, etc., how hard is it to get a reciept? I doesn't matter if your bother is on a 6 month submerged sub cruise you can get the reciept in a matter of minutes...

it is naive to think in these days of fraud and scamming that they would not require proof of ownership/purchase
they are doing you a favor, they already made their money, there is nothing in it for them
why do people expect businesses to act like 'people' and be nice and do them favors?
everyone praises capitalism, but when the cold hard impersonal side is exposed we complain...

I guess its all a matter of perspective,

I don't dis-agree with you. However, there are times in business where you are flexible due to the nature of the circumstance.

You stated something that I wanted to re-iterate "they already made their money" they indeed made money already. Im not looking to rip anyone off. I believe you didn't read the posts clearly. If I was a fraud I wouldn't have offered to send the wheels back to HRE FIRST!

Read between the lines, the receipt is a technicality at this point, after the initial slip up. I would have atleast hope that HRE would own upto the mistake of not disclosing the correct procedure from the get-go.

Remember im the customer, if I am dealing with a vendor they may have their own proprietary process in doing their business. Is it my fault for not being prepared (yes to a degree). But I also expect a company like HRE to own up to their poor communication as well!

Either way its done, I don't want to keep beating a dead horse fellas. :
