V5 changes: Even more top end power essentially, some minor mid range tweaks as well. Power still kicks in at 2500rpm, but the biggest difference is 5000rpm+. I am coming from base 507 tune (increased to V4 spec of course) on my ML63 so gains are obviously less than would be from a stock C63 AMG (at 450HP spec).

This is a pretty bold statement, I understand your excitement, that sound puts a smile on everyone's face but this by no means can be true.

Yes it's official, I was the very first one. There are about 5-6 cars out there with the V5 tune now. Top end power is on a different scale. My only concern is its SO much power that I lately have been more weary of head bolts. But as far as the tune goes, it's incredibly strong. Transmission has adapted better too over time.

I am not doubting EC's tune and how much more power it can add, but i feel like you hearing your throttle blimp is adding a placebo effect. You said it feels like a good 20+ horse, but I doubt that 20 horse is anything to loose sleep over when thinking about your headbolts.

lol, Im loving your responses here. 20hp wouldn't even be detectable in an ml63. If you already have the v4 tune do you really think v5 is some game changer? Like all of a sudden eurocharged figured out a way to make a ton more power for an engine thats been out 8yrs? Sure maybe it makes a tad more power or runs smoother, causes less check engine lights or sensitivity to when people try to install stuff and do it wrong that causes problems and now has the addition of throttle blips for those who never had it yeah!. No way is it as quick or comparable to an mct, hell why dont we start talking about how it shifts faster than the sls dct too. As for the guy with the wiestec valvebody upgrades... im sorry but your transmission is as good as its going to get.

Some of ya'll need to come back down to planet earth. want to 600whp on just a tune? go get a v12 lol.

I never said it shifts faster than DCT, that's silly. It does shift as fast as MCT and the downshifts are just as seemless. It does gain over 20hp over V4, but out of respect for eurocharged intellectual property I cannot say why or how. But I can guarantee you it is easily that much and more...

Those who have it and are in the know can verify. I never though a conventional auto could ever be this fast/good.

My hats off to eurocharged for pulling off a miracle

Excellent news, the shifting temperament and quirkiness on the MCT is a tad annoying to be honest - so any idea when this tune will hit the streets?

FYI - I got an email on 4/7 from Jerry at EC saying V5 isn't quite ready yet.

I would love to get it though and possibly the improved blip depending on what it is.

In very interested in the prospect of a V5 tune as the V4 is already very good and Jerry will most probably only roll it out when he's 100% happy with it!

As for the extra 20bhp at the top end .... maybe maybe not, but I doubt your butt dyno can tell an extra 20bhp on a 500bhp+ car that call will have to be mae on a dyno, if they do roll out V5 map I'm sure Eurocharged will have done more than an extra 20bhp peak, it will be an overall improvement (if an improvement can be made) with a pay off of extra top end power, as these guys do brilliant full range maps without targeting just peak headline figures.

Needless to say .... I'm excited at the prospect !

Version 5? It took you 5 versions to tune a car right? That is the way I look at it. There should never have been 5 versions of a tune.

I've been on different platforms for a long time. People who understand cars knows there shouldn't be 5 generic versions of tunes. Custom maybe.

Your right. No company should ever try to better an already incredible tune. Once a tune is out and the money has been made, they should come out with a stage II that shows gains and charge the consumer for it all over again!!! These guys updating and continuing R&D on an existing tune and providing that tune to there loyal customers at no additional charge are just idiots!

I'm sorry but that is a very prehistoric way of looking at it, almost all cars modern cars use a very complex software system in which the ecu no longer deals with only engine data, so as software is developed to extract the engine data for the tuners to modify, there becomes new ways of utilising and exploiting the cars existing hardware to get more out of it.

You only have to look around at everyday objects to see how things progress, your Computer, TV, Phone, iPod, Printer, Coffee maker, Fridge even! (I could go on all day) all receive software updates to improve performance!

Why should your car be any different?

Id rather be a customer of a company that continually wants to improve its products and offer updates to its customers, than a company that sells a product and thinks f*** it, were done we have made our money, now we don't care.

And is it wasted R&D time ? No, because as all the hype picks up about a new updated product, it will more than likely provide more advertising and bring in new customers.

Gone are the days of flash and forget.

I am a new C63 owner here but am I understanding it correctly that if I buy the v4 tune today when the v5 is released I will get to upgrade to it for free?

I don't think that this is correct....i believe that if you got your tune before the end of 2013 that the tune will remain free. For 2014 there would be a fee if you were already tuned and wanted to update the map to the new version. When I purchased my tune, I was told I would get free tunes, keep in mind I got my tune in 2012.

That is a deal maker or breaker for me. Eurocharged can you give feedback? Because I have a p31 I cant justify spending $1300 on a one time tune for a small gain, If I get future updates as they come for free I will more than likely bite though. Unless the one time tune price comes down?

For those with stock tune cars. How much is it for the V5 + Blip TCU. I have been thinking about having my car tuned for a few weeks now.

Thanks.

Yo Shades, what wheels are you rocking? They match the trims quite well.
Looks nice from what I can tell in that small pic...
