Exhaust help...
*I am posting this in the C63 section as the SL section isn't very active."
I just picked up a 2009 SL63 yesterday and drove it over 200 miles back home. I love the exhaust sound except that it is almost non-existent at low revs. Whenever going WOT it sounds amazing but I just want to amplify the lower revs a bit more. I want to retain that harsh "bark" sound with the crackle and pops that occasionally happen but just want it to be a bit louder across the rev band.
On my old SL55, I removed the two resonators and welded into straight pipes. It made the exhaust sound perfect with little to no drone. I prefer not to mess with the catalytic convertors on the car. So what would be my best option assuming the C63 and SL63 exhausts are configured the same way and sound pretty much the same or are they laid out differently?
1. Remove resonator and weld into two straight pipes.
2. Remove resonator and weld in x-pipe.
3. Remove resonator and weld into h-pipe.
4. Other "please explain"

I put a Kleemann X Pipe on my C63 a week ago and the lower RPM grumble is a bit louder. Through the whole power band it has gained a much richer sound, I am very pleased with the results. I would assume running straight pipes it would be louder and possibly drone more at highway speeds as a comparison.
