Help please-high pitched ? gear/differential whine in lower gears
I just bought a well maitained, low mileage 14000 miles, 2011 C63; just starting to enjoy this awesome car.
I noted while driving around that there appears to be a somewhat high pitched ? gear/differential whine, noticeable only at low speeds in lower gears; is this normal for the vehicle. Per the service records, the differential was checked by the dealer at the first 10K service; this is a regular c63, with out the limited slip diff or performance package. Previous owner knew of no problems. Is this something I need to worry about?
Thanks.
I have come form a manual Audi A6 , and while it does have gear noise in reverse, could not replicate this type of noise. I may go to the dealer, as it is still under warranty, but usually dealers are not responsive until your warranty runs out.
got any pics of the car?
The Audi A6 2.7 turbo is an extremely quiet( good and bad!) and reasonably torquey engine after 135000 miles. I am aware that the 156 is a much higher stung engine though.
Per auto-check, the dealer has 'checked' the differential at the first 10,000 mile service; reading the required maintenance manual, this is not listed- does that mean they suspected something. it is required that a C63 with limited slip rear needs a diff oil change at 2000 miles. Any comments? Thanks.
