Need 17x9 Rear Wheels for drag radials
I traded my 2006 Corvette on a 2011 C63. Both were great cars, but obviously the Mercedes is nicer. I have some drag radials that I used on my Vette. They are Nitto 555R's 275/40-17. I currently have them mounted on some 17x8.5 Corvette "wagon" wheels. I have 2 choices:
1) Buy some 17x9 Mercedes wheels with around a 54 offset. What options do I have here? I could not care less how they look, scuffs, scratches, whatever, they will just be track wheels.
2) Run the Corvette wheels with some very thin adapters. I'm a little nervous here. I contacted one vendor that makes 20mm thick adapters but he said they won't work with the Mercedes style bolts. Also, if I go 20mm, then the outside wheel lip will be 3/4" further out, which I'm not sure will clear the fender well.
Any advice will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Glenn
