Putting a face lift grill on a pre-facelift (2010 w204)

Whats going on AMGers... I've been looking around for a face lift grill to put on my '10 c63 but all that I found either looked not OEM or complete fake (ebay). I'd like to get some insight on this. A part number would be great.

Cheers

This and that.
It is chrome in the front where the original grille is chrome. Avery has it wrapped in gloss black vinyl.

Looks good. Were there any install or fitment issues?

OEM face-lifted grills doesn't fit pre-facelift models (unless you modify the tabs). The 55tech one fits pre-facelift models.

55tech grills are not OEM.

Bought the grill and it arrived today from 55tech and it came with multiple broken tabs holding the chrome were all broken not to mention the center star circle had multiple gouges in the chrome.

Emailed him and requested a replacement. Hope all ends well...

Dang Zeph, you are not having any luck ordering parts for your car lately. Hope they will resolve your issue quickly.

Too bad you dont live nearby, I would treat you for some chicken feets over a beer.

Haha Thanks Ros.....Looking forward to the chicken feet....plus don't worry, my best friend and my roommate all through grad school was/is Chinese so I am already used to it...!

Yes the grill came, it overall well made for the base plastic (black frame), as in it's a thick well made piece but the chrome accents are not the best so far. He claims its an authentic OEM star (would doubt it) but mine came deeply gouged and on the flip side, almost all the tabs holding the chrome in place are broken.

For $200 I really think it could of been better made.

I hope he replaces and I can come back and say its a great product...

Zeph, wonder if someone else got that one and tried to remove the chrome to wrap it, screwed it up and sent it back.

Best of luck getting a replacement.

Hey Mort, honestly with the terrible luck I have had ordering stuff from vendors and members on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised...

I ordered a CF bootlid spoiler from CSK performance in England that had multiple flaws in the CF weave and shape, sent it back and they shafted me on refunding my shipping fee back to them of $250.

I orderd a bootlid spolier from JBSpeed and it was total Chinese Crap with voids in clear coat and scratches and had to send that back.

I got tricked and scammed buying 19" Multispokes from a board member here who sent me cracked, rewelded, refinished, and cruddy wheels when along along he told assured me they were mint, LIKE NEW. Wired him money and got lied to.

So far, it's been quite the adventure here...

Ouch man

I've had bad experiences too...even with members of this board....just learn from them and move on. No part is worth the headache...never wire money....just use paypal...worth the few bucks in fees. At least they'll take care of you if you get screwed.

Plus you get what you pay for. I bought a carbon spoiler from a vendor and it had some flaws in the finish/gel coat....went with a mode carbon and was way happier with it.

Hope all gets sorted out man!

rule of thumb is that pretty much anything JBSpeed sells can be purchased on ebay or alibaba for significantly cheaper.
