Adios my AMG friends
Well, I let my beloved C go today. With the market changing soon for the value of 09's especially I decided it was time for a change. Not another AMG, however, I will be back some day so keep this username warm for me.
I have moved on to a 996tt with a full 997 conversion on a built motor and turbo upgrades. The thing is an absolute monster. Much faster than the C was but the C was still a ton of fun to drive as you all know.
The C63 will forever and always be the car that got me into this dark dark world.
Car forum, so here are some pics. If you wish I can post more when I give it a proper wash and it isn't pitch black out... I was driving all day
Old pic of the car
And nestled in for the night
Good-bye all!

So many ways to scratch the itch! Congrats and best wishes. I love 996TT cars...interior is a touch off for me, but FUN FACTOR is totally there....and I think they offer super driving kicks for the buck. I totally approve. Enjoy.

W204 C63 Coupe, W166 ML350 BlueTEC, 928GT, C5 Z06 & IS300 race cars, EQE 4Matic+ on order
So, you've gone VAG for all your cars now. Any Lambos, Bugattis or Bentleys in the works?
Enjoy the TT! Will probably see you on Rennlist.

And yes, I now realize that with my progression through cars I have to get a lambo now. Waiting for Aventadors to come down into the 200's. I'll be waiting a while haha.

There is a good two-part article on the whole Porsche/Piech family mess at http://www.spiegel.de/international/...-a-637243.html (it was written sometime in 2009 so pre-last-takeover debacle).

Congrats on the new ride. This will most likely be next up in my stable as well.
I will not let the C63 go though, once paid off, I will either pick up a 911 Turbo, GT3, or maybe even a Viper, nonetheless, there will be another 500+bhp car sharing the garage.
See ya around bro!

The 996 are a steal for what they are. Some purists consider them the black sheep of the family simply because of the head lights.
Either way, for the $$$ you cannot beat a nice 996 TT like this one, driving dynamics and sheer power is on tap at any time. They are fantastic cars!
Congrats and see you around,

^ I've got a full 997 front end If anything, the purists would be upset because this 996 simply doesn't look anything like a 996 anymore. Oh well, I can't hear complaints over the spool.
I missed boost oh so very much

Sweet 996TT. Congrats! I did just the opposite; I traded my 2006 997 Carrera 4 (see pic) for my 2012 C63.
The P-car was a great sunny day driver on a two lane highway, but in terms of being a great vacation getaway car, the 997 just wasn't the car for me, and didn't measure up like either of my C63s (former 2009 sedan and current 2012 coupe).
I truly loved the sound of the Porsche flat six engine and the way the car drove, though. The sound of the engine made the hair stand up on the back of my neck . It was that good. Under full throttle, that mechanical growl brought to mind old audio tracks of 917s running at full boil through the Mulsanne Straight at Lemans. Pure awesomeness. Who needs a radio in the overly-complex and cranky SatNav system with an exhaust note like that?
However, I can also say that, in comparison, the C63 has its own unique engine soundtrack, different but just as good, and add to that the attributes of ride comfort, adequate back seat space for real humans, a trunk that can actually hold something other than a couple gym bags, solid construction and a level of rarity that is on par with the Porsche. Another thing I noticed was that the cost of service and parts for Porsche make AMGs seem almost Toyota-like by comparison.
I always thought a Porsche would be the "it" car for me, but after owning one, I think I've found "it" to be the C63 AMG. One man's opinion, respectfully submitted.
Enjoy the ride!

All the best with the 996.. Porches had always been "the driver's car" and I have had a soft spot for them since owning a 986 back in 97. Haha I'm on rennlist in the 928 section.. See ya around PurpleHeart!
