Honestly, I have no idea why you're rubbing. Maybe because you're going over bumps at 15mph. When you're driving down the highway and street (no bumps) you aren't rubbing correct?

Also, over those bumps, any passengers in the car?

Edit - yup, thats the pic I wanted. Still looks like there is plenty of room to me
15 for the wheel (6 mm wider for half the wheel plus 9 mm offset) plus some for the 20 mm wider tire. I can see 9 mm positive offset making the difference. The other clue is that the much smaller difference between tire brands in the same size caused this, so we know we're looking at millimeters.

In my picture that is on a 10.5'' wheel with a 52mm offset which means the wheel comes out an additional 21mm and I was lowered. No rubbing.

His setup is a 9.5'' wheel with 45mm offset which means the wheel comes out an additional 15mm and he isn't lowered.

The only difference which could be why mine didn't rub is because my tire was slightly stretched on the 10.5'' wheel. No stretch with a 275 on a 9.5'' wheel.

I should have said brand and model. It's not unusual at all. I had the same problem on another car. Wrong offset wheels and they worked with some tires but not others of same size. I lived with it until I replaced the tires again.

Basically 19 mm further out
9 for offset and 10 for the tire
I'm not surprised
The Michelin have a very square shoulder which dorsn't help

You may get clearance with agressive negatve camber

You might want to check your bumper tab first. If anything you can just pile them down a lil.

Yup, that's exactly why he's rubbing and you're not. The stretch of the 275 on a 10.5" width keeps the shoulders away from the fenders.

OP, I'd say the cheapest options for you at this point are to get thinner tires, 265 width, or get your fenders rolled on the inner edge?

My guess is slight variations of actual shoulder width between the Super Sport and A/S3. The rubbing looks pretty light, as I don't see any marks on your tires, so we're talking maybe .5 millimeters here.

Yours 17 mm vs his 19
Small but enough difference
What tires brand?
Probably a more rounded shoulder giving a few more mm of clearance

You shouldn't even have issues now... But 265s is the next step. The rubbing can't be that bad bc the sidewall of your tires look fine.

I'd just live with it and ride these tires out
