Smile New To MB, About To Buy, Any Big Differences In Years?

Hey All,

So I'm in the process of selling my R8 V10 and the next on the list is the C63 AMG, but I have a few dilemmas. First, I have to decide if I want a 507/BS and secondly, are there any big changes that have happened from 12-present?

I've done a bunch of searching but haven't really found anything, so I wanted to confirm that with all the MB experts in here.

Most the updates I'd be curious about would be with electronics. Example, I had a 2012 Jeep SRT, loved it, but the 2014's have such better nav/interior features, I just traded up for a new one.

Any help/info would definitely be appreciated!

why getting rid of the R8? I am thinking about going the other way LOL.

Def recommend getting a BS over 507 as 507 is basically a C63 with a tune but the BS is a whole different animal! (Wide body, different brakes, better cooling, more WOW)

12- present not much except 13s up you get optional distronic and different color gauges and indicator stalks. Oh and mb apps or whatever.

The transmission in the R8 is SO bad. I thought about buying neck insurance when I had that car for the week-end lol.

@Guilty - That's why I went with a Manual!

@Natman - Thanks for the info, much appreciated! That was my other question, if the 507 is basically tuned with a few minor adjustments, how much would a tune for a standard c63 AMG be and what type numbers does that get it up to? I could get a standard coupe with decent miles in the 50's. If a tune is only a few grand, it would seem smarter to just go that route.

As for the R8, I absolutely LOVE that car. I've watched a ton of the "Inside Quattro" series on youtube. It's amazing how reliable that car is.

I just have Car A.D.D., lol. I have someone lined up to buy it for a great price on both ends, so it might just be the right time. If he doesn't buy it though, I doubt I'll sell it. Especially since I put an Akrapovic on it...I'm in love with the sound that thing produces!

OP: a tune will run you less than $1000US and will put out more power than the 507.

@Johnny - Thanks for the heads up! I was pm'ing another member about his BS he's currently selling too.

@Maximus - That's what I'm talking about! I saw the Alpha tune runs abour $1200. I'm thinking a standard c63 tuned would be a smart move unless I find a sick deal on a 507 or BS.
