Do you think it needs to be programmed?

i dont think so. when i got my new cable, i just plugged that mother into the box and it worked fine. when i say "go to the dealer", i mean go back to the parts guy and ask him for help; the parts guy at my dealership is always super helpful to me in that way. your cable could be defective, so ask him/her if you can try another cable to see if it works.

Quote: I just replaced mine and love Love it. Fantastic audio quality plus I can see my playlists as well as use Pandora. FYI this is for Iphone 4 and does charge while in use.. Photo shows with a "white" tip cover but the new replacement is black. The Mercedes-Benz OEM iPod Interface Wiring Harness (5V) item # B67824531 is the correct part for your 2008 C-Class and iPhone 4/4S, iPod Touch and Apple products that require a 5V charge (will not work with iPhone 5). From: MercedesBenzCollection.com
This is the cable i purchased and did not work. It charged my iphone 5s and my ipod but didnt play music.

I assume you are using a lightning adapter, could be something wrong with that.

When i contacted the dealership in CO, he asked for my vin and told me my MY was an '08 even though my car is an '09. He said thats why it didnt work on my car so I'm just gonna drive down to my dealership and purchase one for $95

in fact, I would test the cables out at the dealership before purchasing/leaving, as I suggested previously. saves a lot of aggro later. keep us posted.

I had no way to test the other one because it shipped to NY from CO. But I will deff test it out at my dealer when I purchase it. Only reason i purchased the one from CO was because it was $65 as oppose to $95

yes. and btw I tested it before and the tune2air works fine with both the new and old cable. so if you have the old white tipped one (sorry, I can't recall of you do and didn't check the thread), you can get the tune2air and just try that first.

No i had the white one and thats the one that broke off. I started using a pcmcia and the quality is way better than ipod. But only problem
i'm having is skipping. Sometimes the songs freeze and skip to the next one. I had to convert every song to a mp4 for them to work but i think it moght be my pcmcia card reader thats makin them skip

I have an Iphone 4S and had to plug in my phone but today the wire broke and the dealership wanted $65 for cable and $325 to install. The plug isn't in the box but goes through the box to the back of radio. I also inquired about the part to stream audio but the parts guy said it couldn't be done but the dealership across town said they had a $500 interface that plugs into the ipod adapter.....So I need a new cable and I guess a Tune2Air to stream my audio? can we just upgrade command unit?

So.... Based on all of the recommendations in this thread, I purchased a WMA1000.

You should all understand that the only thing that will display on the MB screen or cluster is content in your library. Spotify or Pandora play fine, but the MB screens remain where they were prior. There is no advantage to the Tune2Air if you already have the Media Interface Cable from MB. Who wants to have to look at the phone to see what's playing?

Very disappointed.

Joe

hey joe. I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding your post, but I use the tune2air in my car with the iPod integration kit and cable. it displays current song playing in the instrument cluster (not sure of it shows on the COMAND screen, I usually leave that closed) and I can use the steering wheel buttons to shuffle and navigate my iphone library. it also does so for my internet based music players, such as pandora and spotify. I have a iphone 5.

Interesting. I have a 2010 and an iPhone 5s. MB screens stay stuck on last song that was on my library. When I switch to Spotify, it never changes from last library song on MB displays. A check of the FAQ on the Viseeo site confirms that it won't display anything on the MB screens unless coming from library.

I've sent a message to them. I can't understand how it's working for you.

Thanks.

dunno. i guess I get lucky once in a million times. of course, I'd rather use my limited luck for when I buy powerball tickets, but what can you do.

of course the other variables are that I am using a iP5 on my 2009, versus your 5s on your 2010. maybe that's the problem?

What year is your car? Is the "iPod integration kit" different than the media interface cable that I have?

it may be different, I'm not positive re the lingo. but I have the iPod integration kit with the iPod cable plugged into it. I then plug the T2A onto the end of the cable. do you have full functionality with the steering wheel up and down buttons when the iPhone is plugged in directly?

I have a 2009.

I have full functionality while in library. Once I switch to Spotify, I can only control from iPhone.

I think the mmi cable is different. I'd ask the dealer if that's the case.

Charging an old iPod to see if it works. If so, it's a 5S deal. If not, then I need to investigate cable. I've been poking around on web sites, and it appears it's not supposed to work with steaming.

Glad yours works and thanks for the help.

I have exactly the same skipping problem. I've tried a few different PCMCIA adapters and cards with no luck. Also haven't found any solutions on the forums. Was going to try having them upgrade my comand.

Did you solve this?
