World Record Mercedes Run
Not too long ago two or three of us were shooting for the elusive 10 second pass, now 10 second passes are common place on multiple AMG platforms. Then 9's were everyones goal and now we are having realistic discussions about 8 second passes. It just goes to show that competition is good, we have pushed each other further and further. I know a couple of you guys like Ahmad and Earl are going to be right there nipping at my heels before long so I have to keep pushing as well, no rest for the wicked. I still remember when I purchased this vehicle new and everyone on this board said that a M156 would never touch an M113...oh how times have changed.

You don't have to worry about me going that fast. I would need a bigger blower. I plan on keeping my car a street car I take to the track for fun.

Yea it's a great idea

How is MIR in June, hot and humid or still decent enough to go out and attempt an 8.xx? If you think it would be worth the 10-12 hour drive I might head out your way.

Yea it's getting hot here too. Planning a MIR rental in early June but to be honest if you're looking for cool whether that's probably not gonna happen at MIR in June despite all the stories about it being -5000 DA every day of the year lol. My car should be running less than a week after I get my new custom Weistec pistons. 9.9x @ 14x will be good enough for me lol

Edit: Steve at Weistec gave me the info

Somehow Weistec Engineering has figured out a way to fire bullets without using guns. You can see an example of that when you watch the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series blast down the quarter-mile, through your heart, and into the record books in the video below.
Using an assortment of mods from the Weistec Performance Products armamentarium, the CLK shot down the 1320 in 9.16 seconds at 150 mph. Yes, my friends, that is a world record.
Here's another stat for you to chew on: this Benz can get from 60 to 130 mph in about the same time it takes a Porsche 911 Carrera S to get to 60 mph from a standstill. If cars could go on a 72-hour crack binge, I think they would perform as crazily as this CLK.

Can you talk us mere mortals what happens through one of those runs besides serious propulsion. I am having a hard time grasping the gearchanges especially first and second. What is the 0-100km/h?
How's your beast. Looks good.

All I know is the launch at a track with sticky tires is a great feeling. Something you never experience in a RWD car on the street
V-Box showed 2.2 seconds 0-60 if I recall correctly.
I can see if Weistec can post up additional V-Box data other than just the 60-130 times.
