This isn't like Windows XP, then Windows 7, then Windows 8 or Snow Leopard, Lion, Mavericks.

Lets pick a good OS that really worked (that rules out every second generation of Windows) like Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) and then each revision to make it better and smoother i.e. 10.6.1; 10.6.2 etc etc. Its like that.

They aren't re-inventing the wheel. They're just balancing and polishing the old one. I have enough miles on EC tunes that if they tell me V5 is good to go then Im gonna plug it in and watch all the untuned cars fade in my rear view mirror.
Remember, this motor has been detuned and so this isn't asking it to do anything that its not capable of doing - its just performing like it does in all the other 63s.

Very interested but I have a few questions first


1. I have a P31 are there any additional advantages or performance increases that I would see due to my lighter internals with your v5 tune or would my car perform the same as a normal c63 with your v5 tune?


2. What is your policy for updates? I have read conflicting answers on this forum and would like to hear it directly from you. If I buy this now do I get v6, v7, etc for free or has that policy changed?


3. Will my car pass California smog test with this tune or do you recommend switching back to stock when that time comes?


4. Does this include the transmission tune everyone is talking about (I believe it was by another company but you guys were working with them to make a package or include in future tunes)


5. Dyno's for v5 compared to stock?

so how does the handheld device work?
do you need a computer, special cables, internet access, etc.?
or just the device: plug it in and download...done
is the oem recoverable? is it exchanged with the version on the device?
so they can be swapped back and forth when desired?

You mate the device to the car, read off the car software and send it to us. We then build the file and send it back to you to load on the device and then flash the car

Yes, all you need is a windows computer for the handheld software interface app

Yes, the device stores your oem file so you can flash back and fourth whenever you want. No computer needed at that point.

so we use the device to download the file from the ecu
then we transfer the file to the PC and email it to you
you email us the 'tuned' file
we load that onto the device using the PC/interface
then use the device to download the ecu

We would just need another mygenius file if that is how you did it before.

And as far as the tune is concerned, there is no difference in HP between V4 and V5, correct?

It is very doubtful that your tuner will have access to all the maps even if we were to provide a open ecu as most of the data is encrypted.
