anyone know where I can buy a 507 grille?
#26
Ok, here we go. The 507 grille and DRL surrounds arrived today and they are AWESOME. The black parts are molded from black plastic - no paint etc. They are a perfect polished gloss black. I can't wait to put these on and forget about it.
And for anyone doing searches later on the DRL trim / surround removal, I took a couple of close-up pics of the attachment tabs. It looks like it can be pulled off - straight out - but it's going to take quite a bit of force due to the male/female tabs and tight access. I looked at the inside of the bumper while I had it off the other night, and it's probably a better idea to reach in and release the 4 top tabs holding the DRL surround trim to the actual LED light.
Here are the part numbers for reference:
507 Grille (2pcs): A 204 880 39 83
507 DRL Trim - driver side: A 204 885 37 74
507 DRL Trim - passenger side: A 204 885 38 74
I highly recommend calling Tracy at OE Discount Parts (Skyland Auto), as she's great to work with and now knows where to find these. The code these are under - as well as the alcantara shifter and boot - is the 'P61 Grand Edition'.

You are a life saver. Same parts I was looking for. Can the grill be used with Parktronic??

could you please also share some installation tips when you finished?
i am not sure if it can be replaced with simple pry tools or i have to remove the front bumper ( especially DRL Trim installation)

There's not much to say about the grille installation. Honestly if you cant figure it out by looking at it, maybe you shouldn't be working on your car. The DRL trim is another story. They do not pull out from the outside as far as I can tell. You have to release the 4 lower tabs from inside the bumper and it should come right out. It is a bumper off job unless you have really long skinny arms and can go in through the wheelwell.

I am going through this process now and thought I would add what I've been told as it's a little different from BLKROKT.
I contacted Tracy @ OEDP tried to purchase a laundry list of things.
My first issue is she came back and tried to bait & switch me with their all-season floor mats I found by drilling straight through their accessories catalog links. I clicked through accessories>C class>08-present>interior>Cargo&floor mats>to find part 20468043489G33 for $68.40. She came back said the part has been "updated" and the new price is ~$85. (amazon has them for ~$10 cheaper if anyone is interested)
*edit <- after a month, I'm still peeved about this. They haven't changed anything, and didn't make amends for it, this is a huge yellow flag in my book *edit*
I then tried to inquire about the 507 parts above.
She's confirmed for me the 3 parts above:
204 880 39 83 - 507 Front Grill
A 204 885 37 74 - 507 DRL Trim - driver side
A 204 885 38 74 - 507 DRL Trim - passenger side:
but also that they actually need a 4th part.
"The grill part number is the upper trim only, not the lower main grill. P/N 2048803783 is for without distronic & PN 2048803883 is with distronic"
oh, and the left (driver's side) DRL is backordered.
So to help sum it up:
$391.56 for the actual grill
$110.44 for the top grill
$145.75 for drivers DRL
$145.75 for passener's DRL
for a total of
$793.50 as of a week ago when I checked all this.
Objectively, OEDP seems to have the cheapest prices around for these parts *AT THE TIME*, so a plus for them. SUBJECTIVELY (and YMMV, and hopefully it does) I was really peeved about the floor mat thing (especially as the original item is still on their site for the next sucker to buy) and the email exchanges were terse and minimally helpful (e.g. part numbers but required going to their site for prices, because yes, i love having more work to do when I ask what is the price for the grill who's part # i don't have)
*EDIT* I've been tracking these parts casually for a little while now. (from original post 9/7 to 10/18) and I thought people should know that the prices do vary. Now, OEDP is NOT the cheapest, it's mercedespartscenter.com. Prices are 468 (OEDP went up in their price) vs 391 (MBPC went down to coincidentally match original price) for the main grill, and varied for the other parts as well. Moral of the story: don't just trust one place always has the cheapest prices. Do a little research. Good luck. */EDIT*
Anyway, I haven't pulled the trigger on the 507 parts so i can't confirm everything, and candidly i'm at a bit of a loss as to BLKROKT's pictures showing the actual grill & I THINK top piece yet with only 1 part number, but hope this helps the next person, or someone else can post back and help me.
Regards,

Folks, I have black 507 DRL frames left over from my 'Black Series Conversion'. PM me if interested - I'd want 50$ (plus shipping) for them.
I also have the right DRL itself (80$) - the left one is unfortunately chipped.

Fitting an Edition 507 Grille to Pre-Facelift C63
I searched hi and low for a post anywhere in the world for SOMEONE to suggest that 'yes' fitting a genuine Edition 507 grille to a pre-facelift C63 was possible. Unfortunately I never found one. I thought this was quite surprising given the seemingly similar grille dimensions between a facelift and pre-facelift model and a world of MB enthusiasts who are pretty keen to try anything.
I never even found someone suggesting they'd tried and failed. I guess the cost of the genuine Edition 507 grille plays a part in this as I doubt too many people are prepared to rip up a small fortune on a hunch (grille was quoted at $1800 AUS from the local dealer).
I decided to have a go regardless so I ordered the parts required from CKS Performance in the UK (http://www.cksperformance.com/index....ducts_id=23857). Even the supplier on realising it was for a pre-facelift C63 said 'Don't do it'!
The order arrived a week or two later which included two pieces (the upper trim which fits to the bonnet and the grille itself). Mine came with the Distronic style star which even though the pre-facelift vehicles aren't fitted with this I was happy with how it looked.
So first things first, I removed the original grille parts and checked the fitment of the upper trim which attaches to the bonnet. PERFECT! It's an exact fit. So it was easily and without modification screwed in place.
Next, I tried to fit the lower, or main part of the grille. No dice. Despite everything being dimensionally the same and the ends of the grille fitting perfectly into the notches where the old grille sat and the upper part of the grille's fitting points being a perfect match, the lower part of the grille wouldn't fit.
I quickly established that the ONLY thing preventing the grille from fitting were the differences in the location of the tab cutouts on the lower part of the grille vs. where the tabs where on the bumper of the car itself. Even then there were only three or so that weren't in line. The other two or so did align.
So I simply marked where the bumper bar tabs wanted to fit on the new Edition 507 grille.
Using a battery powered Dremmel tool and a thin cutting disk suitable for plastic, I VERY CAREFULLY cut into the grille where I had marked and basically created my own tab cutouts. The whole job took about ten minutes and some care.
After that, fitting was easy. The grille simply dropped into place without any further modifications at all! The grille sits very solidly and doesn't wiggle or move. It's just like it was meant to be there! The ONLY thing I've noticed is that the lower edge of the grille doesn't sit perfectly flush with the bumper bar - but it's only by a few mm. I'm a bit OCD with things like fit and finish and I'm more than happy with the result. Not one single person has suggested it looks out of place or that it doesn't appear to fit properly.
So there you go. Fitting an Edition 507 grille to a pre-facelift C63 IS possible - and it's not even that difficult to do!
Note that in the pictures attached, the grille looks out of alignment. This was actually a panel fit/gap issue and was sorted by my Mercedes dealer so everything is perfectly aligned now.
I couldn't be happier and my C63 Edition 507 replica continues to take shape!
Please note that these grille modifications were made on a genuine MY10 C63. I have no idea if the same can be done for other W204 pre-facelift C-Class models.

Great effort and nice job on taking on the task!
In looking at the pics, it appears like you said the bottom doesn't seat that well. It doesn't bother you? Could you have dremmeled it further to make it seat properly?
Otherwise nice job on the hard work...!

G'day ZephyrAMG,
You are correct in that I stated that the bottom part of the grille isn't exactly aligned and protrudes a few mm. I think it looks far worse in the posted pics than in reality. The intensity of the headlights seems to enhance this.
Using the Dremmel tool to take out more than was necessary would have made no difference. All that needed to be done was to create new gaps for the original bumper bar tabs.
The pics that I posted were taken immediately after I finished fitting the Edition 507 grille. This was, however before the dealer re-gapped the panels at my request. They sorted this out and the Edition 507 grille looks absolutely at home on my MY10 C63 (pre-facelift).
Cheers,
gcm747

What did the dealer charge you to fix the gaps on the panels? I would like to have this done and projectors aligned.

Panel Alignment...
To be absolutely honest the dealer charged me nothing to get the panel re-gapping done. It's probably worth noting however, that my current C63 is my second Mercedes-Benz purchase from the same dealer within 3 years (my first from the same dealer was an ML350) and my C63 is still under warranty. That's probably the biggest point. Buying a used MB vehicle from Australian dealers attracts a 2 year warranty and I'm within that time frame.
It's also a relationship thing. It's amazing what you can achieve by spending a few extra minutes with your service advisor and getting to know them!
