New C63 Owner *Advice on break-in*

If engine break in was THAT important Mercedes would put electronic limits on the car for the first 1000 miles...no RPM over 5000, limit gas to 80%, etc - these would all be very easy to put in place (much like the top speed limiter).
They are general guidelines and the point is not to completely rag on the car from day 1 (at least according to Mercedes).

I believe that anything new and mechanical requires a period of time to mate components. I would follow the manufacturer's instructions and take it easy for the first thousand miles
I trust AMG. Internet hyperbole, not so much.

Use of property rights
Need to accelerate to avoid an accident but can't
Big brother control rather than an individual understanding the reason and practicing self restraint
They are very specific guidelines not 'suggestions' lol

I'm kind of amazed that so many folks just think it's weird mumbo jumbo. I purchase anything I read the instructions, since I don't build the friggin' engines or work at AMG I'm pretty sure I don't know better. I'm glad someone's watched a video, but come on... Just follow the instructions as much as possible. I did and still enjoyed the heck out of the first 1K. Nothing personal but I'm going to tend to follow manufacturer instructions versus anything anyone says on any forum. Yes, they may be an engineer, or whatever, but a lot of thought goes into these recs. That's my advice. Worth every penny paid for it, perhaps...

Not sure why MB would trick us with unwarranted break-in procedures??
Or make up stuff
It allows surfaces to mate
Tempers metals/joints by some heat cycling
What does it hurt?
I bet there is a correlation between head bolt failure and improper break-in
