HEADLIGHT QUESTION
I am new to the forums and a new fairly new Mercedes owner. I got my 2011 C63 in November. I have never been happier with any car. But I have noticed that my headlights are different than most other C63s (08-11) that I have seen. Here are two picture that I have attached the first (black) is my car. If you look closely the headlight housing has a chrome type look. The second picture's (white) headlight has a much darker grey tint. I want to know were the grey headlights an option or did they all come with that headlight. Also if I wanted to find the grey headlights where could I? Would they fit or need any kind of modification?

^^ correct you don't have the lighting package.
You could retrofit but I think you need to reprogram your front SAM.

I almost didn't get my car because it doesn't have bi-xenons. But it has everything else I wanted and was a good deal, so I held my nose and bought it.
Before I signed I looked into retrofitting bi-xenons. My SA is great and has been with me though at least six cars. He actually dug into it. When he got to $7,000 he gave up. The factory xenons require so much new hardware that it's essentially not doable. It takes a different front SAM (not just coding) because the factory HIDs are active.
The only practical path is to a third-party system that isn't active, and that typically involves cutting and splicing some wires. That, plus the fact that the third-party lights don't look exactly like the factory units, leaves me cold. Of course, at that point either the SAM has to be recoded or a device that spoofs the old lights has to be installed as well.
It would be great if someone like Steve from the Netherlands could put together a kit of older, pre-active, HIDs that would fit. But as far as I know, nothing like that is available now.

Xenons or LEDs is almost at the top of my list. I think I am more flexible on exterior color than the headlights.

Building these cars without xenons (or full COMAND for that matter) makes no sense. I hear the 2015s will have xenons standard, finally.

Have you considered HIDs or something like that? I'm not sure how the programming works and what not but I'd like to believe that would work and be a decent substitute that doesn't cost you a teste per light.

Still looking. Nothing so far seems perfect. I do hate the idea of having to hack up the wiring yoke, but I haven't given up.

Have you seen these yet? Regular w204 owners already started doing this upgrade and I recently installed one on my younger sister's car.
Looks and works like oem except no adaptive lighting.

Are those really xenon? I don't see any confirmation of that. Where are the ballasts? It talks about lenses but not much else.

Install is straightforward and takes around 2 hours if you take your time.

for these LED headlights
if I have a prefacelift with Xenon, thinking about retrofiting the facelift kit, would these LED ones work because it says not compatible with Original Xenon
is there some coding to be done?
