Sorry for bumping this post up. There is now a further development. One afternoon, I drove into my carbay and was about to turn the car off when the centre dash display flickered and the car stuttered. It kept doing this for a while so I thought I'd shut her off.

Once I did that all electronics died. There were no cabin lights, the car would not lock and it basically felt like someone had pulled the battery from my car. While waiting for a tow truck, I manually opened the boot with the key to remove my items. I then heard a click from the boot fuse box and the internal lights came back on. For all intents and purposes the car came back to life except that the time on the dash display was 0.00. I started the car as per normal and it was fine.

It did get towed to the service centre because I didn't want to drive it during peak hour traffic if it were to die on me. So the service centre did this...

"Battery charge rate test - states charge. Carry out rear sam software update for alternator charging battery - states good battery

Replaced Rear sam relays renew for ignition circuit - reset all control units no faults found engine starts."

So happily I collected my car and drove back to work. Once I got back to work, I turned the car off and again all electronics shut off. I can't do anything. Even the nav screen didn't retract. Angrily I slammed the door and went inside leaving it unlocked hoping someone would steal the car but they probably wouldn't get far anyway cos the car won't start! I went back to the car when I had calmed down and everything had been restored.

Again the time had reverted back to 0.00.

So the car is back at the shop again.

I'm extremely disheartened. This is the most expensive car I've ever purchased and I've worked my butt off to buy it ever since it was released in 2008. I know it is no comparison but I never had any worries like this with my Lexus ISF which I traded up to the 63.

Is your car modified in any way, and are you the first owner?

You won't get lexus reliability with a Merc, so expectations should be lower. (I'm trading a lexus for a c63 too, however).

This and that.
It should be under warranty? Let the pro's take care of it for you! Sounds like you got a bit unlucky with a unit that's causing some issues but don't get disheartened. I am sure it's probably some minor fuse or electrical issue which once the dealership fixes, it shouldn't bother you again. Good luck, keep us updated.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm trialling a new battery. So far over a week it has behaved normally. I don't know why changing a battery would make this situation better except if a connection was loose to a terminal of the battery. I'll keep on trialling to see how it goes.

Stock apart from Weistec Oil Air Separator and Mike's H pipe. There are some ricer AMG stickers here and there but I seriously doubt they would cause these issues

I would remove the Weistec Oil Air Separator, just in case, and see if it happens again.

Don't think the OAS would cause electrical issues. I had the problem before OAS installation.
