Great info everyone thanks, I might not dismiss a 50-60k mi car if I can get the right price ...but I think option 1 is certainly the lowest miles and newest I can afford.

 

I just bout my 2010 C63 p31 a few months ago with only 35,xxx miles on it (now it has 39,xxx) I have an MB warranty on it till 75,000 or for another 3 years and I love the car so far. My current plan is that in three years when the warranty is up and I have hit 75,000 miles I will sell it because out of warranty expenses are huge (our motor in crate form is about $60,000, not that it is likely to blow a motor but just saying)


The only thing I would say that you might be missing is routine maintenance is expensive on an MB and slightly more so on an AMG. Make sure you look at the maintenance schedule and understand what has to be done at what point and what it costs if you are not doing it yourself. The 40k mile maintenance at a dealer is well over $1k but most of it can be done yourself if you have some basic skills and tools.
