New Owner w/ a question
Hey all, long time member, but recently back in a Benz...
09 Capri Blue 16K miles.
Original sticker shows 030 AMG Performance Package, but the car does not have the alcantara steering wheel and i'm curious what the deal on this is.
Anyone have any insight on this and any other tips for a first time AMG owner?

There is a thread in here somewhere about the P30 package. It seems it evolved or there was shortages at times. Not all P30 had all the items in the package. Do you have the 2 piece front rotors? Your car likely has LSD, 2 piece rotors, performance suspension and speed limiter raised to 174 mph and no Alcantara steering wheel. You will have to check your car carefully to determine exactly what pieces of the package your car was delivered with.

^ What Mort said. AFAIK all P30 cars got the LSD, true 2-piece rotors, a stiffer performance suspension and a raised speed limiter. Some P30 cars also got the Alacantra inserts on the steering wheel. If you can see actual fasteners on the front brake rotors (they likley would not have been repalced in 16K miles), you have the P30.

That's the weird part, front rotors look like single piece, drilled only. Rear rotors are drilled and slotted which is what the P30 has... I'm so confused by this now! I will have to find out of the brakes were done as part of the MB Certification before I bought it, could it be they just put the wrong ones on?

According to the build sheet, it has an LSD but I don't see a reference to the P030 package (or the stiff suspension and two-piece rotors separately). I suspect it may have been optioned with just the LSD and the limiter increase, which would also explain the steering wheel w/o the Alcantra inserts.

I used to have a silver 2009 C63 with P30 package, it was equipped with 2 piece rotors, stiffer suspension, speed delimiter, alcantara steering wheel and LSD. I really liked the bolted discs and the steering wheel.
I just sold my 2011 C63 in capri-blue, amazing and rare color. Enjoy your low mileage AMG, I bought my forth C63 today.
