If you're down by the lake and want to see the new C Class in person, there are 6 of them in the lot at Ontario Place. They look like they are there for press testing along with some new GLA's
Car looks good in person....the interior is beautiful and a huge step up

When callmiro starts a thread we know it's going to be EPIC lol
Can't wait to see the pics, but I'm sure it will be weak sauce compared to the new BMW 3 & 4.

Love the way that front lip looks! Makes the car much more aggressive and sporty. Can't say I like the back end much though. It seems awkward and the taillights are way too round and narrow.
But overall love the car, makes me a bit sad to know that my c63 will be old gen now though.

Looks better than the 3 series
Looks like a machine where as the 3 looks like an overly done and artificially exagerated toy
Trying too hard
Then again purely subjective
Some like picasso some like warhol
Taste
Opinion not fact

Overall great looking car, but damn that rear really bothers me. Honestly its not even poorly designed. The new exhaust pipes look great, also the rear vents are a nice sporty addition, everything looks crisp. But, THOSE DAMN TAILIGHTS, how did anyone look at that and say, "yes this is exactly what we're looking for".
Its more acceptable on the bigger bulkier S-Class, but on the tiny C, it just looks awkward. Much prefer the look on the CLA taillights (although many people here would disagree), or even the E-Class. Also I love the new headlights as well, looks great!

I hope they change the taillights on the coupe. The wagon's taillights are much better already.
Really though it's not a huge deal. Once you sit inside in that amazing interior you forget about the rear.

I thought you said C-class. Clearly that's a CLA...no wait...an E...smh. Why do they all have to look the same?! Nothing that makes me want to jump ship on my w204 but good find.

I like it
It will be even nicer after the AMG treatment
I'm a function>form guy
I don't mentally image how others view or perceive me in the car
Anyways, when in it I can't see it
Although I don't want fugly lol
Every mfg is trying to hit a price point, budget, profit margin
One way AMG does it is commonality of engines
Using base model rear fenders: changing that stamping is $$$$
BMW shifts some money from engine to sheet metal
Audi weights the interior a bit more
All mfgs do it
If we are talking about looks imho Audi is by far the best
They look like avant garde art, detailed like a watch
BMW used to be the best engineering, so well thought out for ease of service, best quality electrical connectors, etc....but they have slipped and others upped their game so pretty much equal now
As far as engine costs V8 vs I6
2 less cams
Pistons, rods
8 less valves
Material, machining, labor, warranty(more parts = more chance of failure)
It adds up over millions of cars

Interior is fantastic, makes the w204 look like cheap plastic. Love the dash and the centre console. Seats are also a huge improvement, can't wait to see what they do with the AMG version of the seats. And also completly agree with the comment about the estate. It looks a hundred times better on the wagon and the tailights flow a lot better with the overall design too.

The car looks way more aggressive in person...the front looks really stout and I actually like the rear end...everything about it looks more upscale than the W204...especially the interior....it looks far better than even the current E and CLS inside
I think its optical illusion that makes the trunk look like it drops off, but when you see it in real life, the trunk actually sweeps back up with the spoiler

It is very difficult to capture a 3 dimensional object in 2 or planar
Never looks 'right'
Cars always seem to look better in the 'metal'
A small change in perspective makes a big difference in impression

Looks like they took the front half of a long luxury sedan and married it to the back half of a stubby coupe.
Like a marriage between Infiniti and Kia. I don't like it, especially the back. I don't like the CLA either and I'm glad I'm not in the market to buy right now.

I like the front but do not like the rear. As others mentioned it feels too short compared to the front end. Maybe in person it doesn't look that bad .
But for now I'm not impressed. From certain angles car looks like an infinity! Let's wait and see for the AMG version to see if those fender lines in the back gets a bit wider or something.
Thanks for sharing Callmiro

I agree Anthony, it looks very Infinity'ish ... unless they come out with wider rear fenders for the AMG (which i doubt by looking at the new ML63), I still think the design is weak.

I like the long hood-short trunk look
Look at almost any BMW
Now if they did it to push the front axle forward a few in hes and move the engine back a few all the better
Look where the front axle intersects the engine
Audi at the bell housing!
AMG C63 basically the middle
M cars at the front of the engine
Fundamental geometry is correct on the M
