How reliable is a valvetronic type exhaust?

How reliable is a valvetronic type exhaust?
How well do those remote actuated exhausts like IPE hold up? Is it something that open and close on command for many years or can they be finicky or troublesome for whatever reason?
I'm looking at buying a c63 with full headers back IPE and it's pretty crucial that it works flawlessly all the time so I can quiet it down when getting into my condo.

We have installed iPE exhausts on just about everything including the C63 and have never once had an issue with the valves... or any component in their exhaust systems for that matter.
