Potential C63 Owner. Comments Welcome.
Hello,
Mostly an Observer and have lurked here for about 6 months reading to educate myself prior to "coming out".
I believe the W204 C63 is "right" for me. I've concluded that MY12+ with the new face lift and some of the new features such as MCT and upgraded interior with no worries about headbolts is the right platform to begin my search.
Some specific questions I've struggled to find the answers myself that I would welcome comments.
Q1. LSD. Some have these from the factory. If a pre-owned C63 (2012-2014) does NOT have this option, is this a complicated retro-fit process? If so, what's involved, and approximately how many shop labor hours for this?
Q2. Headers. Most cars require a motor pull to be able to swap out with aftermarket headers. Some motors are more complicated to pull (ie: Audi S4) and require about 24 shop labor hours for a remove and replace. Is it the same with the C63?
Q3. Pricing. This might create some debate amongst folks here, so any fair comments are welcome. Is it reasonable to think a fair amount of 2012 would be turned in after a 3 year lease (this year) resulting in a reasonable inventory where a nice CPO sedan could be had for 45k? I'd like to buy in the next couple of months but I'm not finding too many ~35k miles clean 2012s with the below must haves in this range. Am I smoking crack?
Must Haves: Sedan, Keyless Go, Lighting Package (which I think is Bi-Xenon), and Backup Camera... (<-- Only available with MMI??)
Thanks

Q1: There's aftermarket LSD options for our cars.
Q2: Our motors don't have to be pulled to install headers. Any shop that tells you otherwise probably shouldn't touch your car. Typical header install will vary 7-10 hours depending on the shop.
Q3: Do a nationwide search. Find one that's close to what you want. Then find one near you and show that dealer the other one. They'd be crazy not to bargain with you. Why lose business to a guaranteed buyer over a couple grand? They'll play ball.

LSD installation really varies so be sure to shop around. I had some places estimate 10-15 hours. I found a great shop that did it in 4.5 hours, and it's spectacular. Love the LSD (wavetrac)

Do you guys predict the pricing on 12+ to drop a bit more when the W205s come out?
Possibly into the low 40s/high 30s by mid year?
When are the W205s hitting the market?
