Never had a problem with mine. Something isn't right.

Are you guys installing the centering rings?

Could be cheap Chinese made bolts. Could be too much torque and no centre rings putting a lateral load on the bolts causing the shearing.

I've had the same issue on my E55 with 19" Forgestar F14s, TWICE. Last year, my rear wheel came off after all 5 lugs sheared. I discovered two more sheared lugs today. I'm going to back to MB for diagnosis. If one more fails, I'm switching back to OEM wheels. It's just too risky to keep having this issue.

I have Forgestar F14s on my E55. I lost a rear wheel last year due to lug bolts shearing off. Just discovered that my rear wheel has two more sheared off. I don't have hubcentric ring adapters. ModBargains and MB said they weren't needed, but something's not right with the set up for sure.

I suspect the Forgestar bolts are of questionable quality and the slightest bit of "over tighten" will cause the bolt to fracture. The fitment of my CF10s on the hub is excellent but I have had a bolt shear off when undoing it.

There should be aftermarket conical bolts that would work.

I don't get this thread. Each and every one of the examples above sounds like a case of 'user error', as the hubcentric rings weren't installed. What's the issue exactly. Someone f***ed up - either the installer or the driver. Don't blame the rim manufacturer or the lugbolt manufacturer for your inability to follow instructions.

I think you're right that these are installation issues. In my case, I'm surprised that neither ModBargains or MB even suggested hub rings, and have both mounted the wheels without them. You make it sound like they're a necessity with these wheels even though all of the sources I've read say they're optional. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to buy a set from Forgestar, get them installed and hopefully resolve the issue.

Wait, None of you guys use titanium lug nuts???? Why hasn't anyone said.."Buy titanium lug nuts" Lol??? Instead everyone pulls out the mercedes manual now theres a 2 page thread about cheap lug nuts and how they break...

Not trying to be a dink but c'mon guys..we spend thousands on rims but nothing on lugs? what happens if you're doing 130km down the highway one day and your wheel comes flying off? it's gonna cost thousands to fix and you might even get into an accident..yeah titanium lug nuts are a few hundred bucks..BUT..you can re-use them for the next probably 20 years..pretty sure titanium doesn't rust and lasts a long time
