Surge, mercedes now describe the c450 as an "AMG 4Matic". They seem to have quietly dropped thee Sport bit and area pushing the awd. I guess Mercedes Benz c450 AMG Sport 4MATIC was too much of a mouthful.

They will have almost the identical design, same interior and options. Only the engine will differ. What a disappointment ....
The W204 C250 Coupe has the same seats/interior as the U.S.-spec Black Series. This is really nothing new.

W204 C250 Coupe:

W204 C63 Black Series (U.S.-specification):

The AMG Sport model gets the performance seats but only in one color (Black MB-Tex). The W205 C63 and C63 S get a plethora of unique leather and trim combinations. They also get a unique set of 3 steering wheels (all are thicker and have a 12 o'clock indicator band). The AMG Sport model gets a C400 steering wheel with a flat bottom and no indicator band.

The W205 C63s also get some unique controls and 100% unique gauges.

The C63s get wider front and rear tracks, unique front/rear axle assemblies, unique differentials, unique braking systems, unique exhaust systems, etc.

To say only the engine differs is pretty misleading (no offense, abcut; I normally really appreciate your posts).

As far as the exterior is concerned, apples to oranges (in my opinion).

W205 C63:

It's not like the W204 C63 was massively different from the C300, either.

Just reviewed Chris Harris December track test of the GTS. The C63 is clearly not in the same class as this, but the huge difference in Chris' level of enthusiasm suggests that the difference is perhaps more than was expected. He certainly didn't warm up to the C63 the way he did to this car.

As an aside, I WAS encouraged to hear his comment about the absence of Turbo lag. That bodes well for the C63 engine.

This was certainly an enthusiastic review:

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20150...ne-for-drivers

"Later, climbing and descending through the Algarve, slowing through sleepy medieval villages that dot the hillsides, the AMG C63 S fairly gobbles the road. On track and on sinuous Portuguese two-lane, the Mercedes presses big advantages over its rivals, in both luxury and performance. The BMW M3’s smaller, 425hp twin-turbo six is ruthlessly efficient, but cannot match the force or the burly, chesty soundtrack of Benz’ biturbo V8. The M3’s 406 pound-feet of torque is swamped by the respective 479lb-ft and 516lb-ft of the C63 and C63 S. Throw in steering with near-perfect weight and sensitivity, and a road-taming yet supple dynamic suspension, and AMG buyers will spend an inordinate amount of time hunting BMWs to bash."

"The C63 feels not simply faster than an M3, but more approachable, engaging, deluxe and fun. The changing of the guard can no longer be ignored, or argued away. Until BMW can stiffen its resolve and recapture its magic, Mercedes-AMG is the new standard-bearer for luxury sedan performance."

I drove the **** out of the GTS out at the Thermal Club a couple months ago. There is ZERO turbo lag. Before my C63, all I had was turbo cars - 996TT, DSMs, etc - and I can tell you that this engine is the most responsive turbo I've ever driven by far.

I can't wait to take one for a drive. I'm still not sold on the looks, but I do love the interior and I think in all white with gloss black or CF accents, that I could be ok with the exterior. That's really half the reason I am in my w204, no one but other enthusiasts really notice the wider front fenders, and there are TONS of C300's around me running our diffuser and quad setup. Surprise silly charger or whatever in the next lane, you may have roasted a few 350's or whatever but this is different. It's an aggressive sleeper I guess? I'm terrible with words at 0345...
