[Input Needed] Potential C63 Owner, Looking at CTS-V as well
The driving impressions are quite different. The C63 always feels more on-edge while the CTS-V feels more relaxed. For a quick spin down a twisty mountain road, the C63 is probably more exciting, but not faster. For a long highway cruise, the CTS-V is far more relaxing.
Also, the rear seat in the CTS-V has substantially more room than the C63.
I do still think even light mods are much cheaper for the CTS-V. I installed a cold air intake on my V that was very effective. I think it cost $250. For the C63, that is about the price of an air filter. Similarly, exhaust systems are also quite differently priced for each car.
With generally very similar performance overall, the choice really comes down to which style, brand, sound, interior, etc. you prefer.
Headers for my C63 were 4K alone.
