Trade in 435i for C63?
#26
No. Early '11 and before had the headbolt issue. Facelift cars (2012 MY+) are fine. I wouldn't worry too much about no Performance Pack (P31). It's cheaper to make your own with a tune and a diff. I'd say go for it. My buddy has a 135i (N54) and i much prefer the linear power delivery of the C63. And the sound! I would love to have a manual in the car, but once you get used to the gearbox, it will be 80% as much fun as a manual.

Wow some people need to relax...
435i is a great car, not like apples to oranges compared to the C63. I used to own a 135i and yeah the C63 is more raw and it's faster, but it isn't like night and day. The C does feel a lot more special though.
Pros:
- Better power,
- amazing engine (though the N55 is a great engine too),
- sound is insane (though the N55 with Performance exhaust does sound amazing too, but the C63's sound is LOUD and ANGRY),
- Seats are beautiful and very supportive
- Powerslides!
Cons:
- Transmission: Make sure you test it properly, and try it in M mode. I often get frustrated my the M mode in the C, but the D mode is smooth as butter.
- Multimedia system: BMW's iDrive is much better than Merc's COMAND system,
- Sound System (if you have the sound upgrade in both): BMW's harman kardon is much better than Merc's version
- Rattles: I had none in my bimmer, I have tons in my C63 coupe. Heck if I push the volume of the music up I get rattles.
- Powerslides! You WILL get traction issues. Even in the summer. Even in a straight line. It's a lot of fun most of the times, but sometimes you feel like the car should be going much faster.
Edit: Gas consumption-wise, I went from 16-19L/100 city driving my 135i to 20-23L/100

You can get anywhere from 8-21mpg (some prob higher...and lower), just depends on your driving. I'm currently getting around 16.7 mpg and that's constantly being in M mode.

Actually there is. If you read his initial post the 435i is an xdrive and can be driven year round. That's what make it "more" practical than the C63, depending on where you live...

you are right about most of that, there are a lot of pro's and cons to the C63 however on the side of the rattles thats caused by such a stiff sport suspension. This gives the c63 better handling but the trade off is harsher ride which means more squeeks and creeks.

Picked up the car and drove it for a weekend, sadly the weather was not cooperating. Sad to see my BMW go, but the C63 is on a whole different level! Made a trip down to Niagara to bond with the car, and I was surprised to see I did 360km with 1/8 tank of gas left Probably could've made it to 400km per tank. Please excuse the bad iphone pics.
Excited to be a C63 owner and can't wait to start modding
