It's ALIVE!
No videos, nothing special, just wanted to share a quick thought on my C63.
I'll be the first person to admit I didn't really do anything to prepare this car for winter storage. Everyone always has their xyz tips and the threads pop up every year. All I did was change the oil and back it into my garage. Didn't even have a full tank of gas, probably 3/4ths.
Well, it was 40 degrees today so I cleared the 3'' of ice off my driveway I kept driving over with my Edge, because it was time to stretch the C63's legs.
I get in the car, which has now sat for over 3 months and this past month the average temp outside was 12.2 for us. Put the key in, gave it the ole flick, and first turn she fired right up. Good ole exhaust snap against the back wall, high idle for 30 seconds or so, and the settled right on down. I sat it in for a minute to just listen and make sure no bells or whistles came up, nothing.
Finished clearing off my driveway and off we went for a nice 2+ hr cruise. The brakes didn't even give me any of those grinding sounds you'll sometimes hear when a car sits for a long time. No lifter noise. Nothing. It was as if I had just driven the car 5 minutes ago and ran into the grocery store for something.
AMG to the day I die friends.
PS - If you ever think your car is getting slow or down on power just park it for a month or two. I feel like it has 900hp after driving this damn Edge all winter.

I wish I could live in a place where people would like at me funny when I asked them where they store their toys for the winter.

The first day of driving after a long winters slumber is so much fun!
Were finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel here in Toronto. Hopefully in the next few weeks the salt / snow would be gone from the roads.

I believe down here in the dirty south winter storage is what you do for your t-shirts when you're making room for your long-sleeves.
Not driving my autos for 5 months???? GTFO, i'd move immediately.

I've been taking it out of the garage periodically this winter for 20 minute drives every couple of weeks, but the salt, sand and rocks and especially the monster pot holes that now pepper our roads here in the NYC area would demolish my ride. So I'll keep taking it out for occasional rides until they fix those canyons. I miss it, but would really hate to split 1 of my rims. I mean, the potholes are just ridiculous...

I don't mind taking the car out if the roads were clear and dry. But i rather not risk it. Theres also the issue of hardened snow / ice debris on the road. I have hit chunks of Ice and snow on the highway multiple times.
I know the car is more then capable, when equipped properly. But the Great North Winters are fierce, i rather leave the safety of my family to a proper 4 wheel vehicle.
Thank you, i see we have a very discerning taste for paint colours

Beware of the pot holes fellas. There's nothing that can ruin a day like the feeling of crushing a rim on a jagged edge of pavement along with the wobble that follows.
They are everywhere.

I just got my car on January 20th and its been in 4 different shops since then for various stuff (wheels, tint, vinyl, paint). Its been in the body shop getting paint for over two weeks now and I am getting it back on Monday. I CANNOT WAIT. The weather has been nice this weekend and it is killing me not having it.

Not only have I been driving my '09 (with no LSD, though I think I might change that shortly) through a kinda ridiculous Boston winter, but I removed one car seat and took the six year old up to Loon snowboarding this week. We even got darn close to 20mpg on the way up and back - a far cry from my normal 13.
The only fun car I've had that I hated in the snow was my long since gone '97 Cobra that I drove through most of a winter with 275 Nitto DRs. That car, rear, tire combo was a nightmare. Good snows are a necessity, but man, this car is an absolute blast in any weather ... as long as my right foot behaves.

Drove the 507 to work today! First time its been driven since December.
Tried very hard to find snows for it, but Tire Rack had not measured the offset so they would not sell.
Spent the last 3 months with an Audi S4 with Alpins. Great combo.
Felt awfully good to drive the 507.

As cliche it is to say this but the car always feels like an amazing piece of machinery when you drive it sparingly. It's fun to to get it in every so often and not DD it because the details and performance really stand out!
