Thinking to go for 18x10 rear and 18x8.5 front wheels set ! will it fit with stock arches ? will use 285 width tires at the rear

Depends on the offsets. Many run 10's in the rear just fine.
The 285's will be where you run into trouble especially if you're lowered.
10'' +50 and a 275 tire should work though. (Waiting on expert roswell to chime in, but I believe he runs that setup)

10" with a 50 or better offset will work with 275.
I actually had a close look under the rear arches recently to detemine where the occasional rub noise comes from. Specificially I was looking at the join between the guard and lower skirt. Sure enough there is a metal lip which sticks out and can be trimmed or beaten (I was lazy and belted it a couple of times).
I would love to run 285 (275 on 10" is a light stretch and 285/295 would be a better fit) but I am pretty sure it will rub on the outer side with my +52 offset. I have no idea what the inner clearance is like as I have not put the rear up on ramps with wheels /tyres fitted and had a close look.
Please try it with 285 and let us know how it goes.

On a 10x19 rear wheel you can run a 275 ET48 lowered with coilovers. That is what I had on my previous sedan. It was flush and I wouldn't go lower than that offset.
Now with 285 you might rub on the inside. The inner clearance was really tight on my set up.

Offset on the wheels?
I suspect that going 20" may assist.
There is clearly a small variation between cars as to what will fit. Some people can have minor rub with a 275 at stock height whilst others with the same tyre and matching wheel offset have none when lowered. Before flattening the panel join I got occasional very minor run on one side only under load.
