Bottom line these cars are toys. IMHO toys come after responsibilities.

And always pay cash for toys. If you can't then you can't afford it.

Lastly it's about ratios. I personally don't own things with motors that total more than half my annual income. They are not investments and tieing up that much of your income in toys is plain dumb.

My 2 pennies. But everyone has their own views and get different financial advise.

I make 80/year, wife makes 30ish. paid high 50's for ours in 2013, have a stage 3 weistec on it's way at the moment, never financed anything. The car is absolutely a toy, and not an investment, couldn't be happier.

RS4 coming to NA? Now that would be quite something if that happens

I'm not the usual target market for these cars, some of these numbers are insane. LOL
Is there a cash price for lowest salary? HAHA, I get to own and maintain one cool car at a time, the rest are beaters. Maybe once our business is off the ground I'll be back here...

Much better investments out there then to drop that on a car instead of leasing or financing at a cheap rate.

If you have a business a lease is the way to go. Especially if you don't keep cars long. Also if it gets smashed you aren't stuck with a accident report on your merc.

This is a question for your accountant of how much you can write off if any.

The less you take out from company the less tax you pay, but also sucks when your t4s are **** and you're trying to get a mortgage or big loan.
Yep, I have plenty of money in the bank but I get 1.9%-2.9% from MB Finance so I usually always take out loans. Lol, my SLS BS payments were $4800 a month and that was after I put $50k down. Furthermore I take some of the loans in my company name so a portion get written off. My investments are currently averaging over 9% yield. I wrote a check for a car a couple years ago (my Ford Raptor) and both my accountant and financial advisor told me it was a mistake, they told me I should have taken advantage if the low interest rates and invested the $50k.

Absolutely not true! I paid $140k for my C63 BS including tax. I could have written a check but instead I financed $110k of it for 3 year at 1.9%. Financing it cost me about $3,200 in interest. By keeping that $110k in my portfolio it has made me $16k+/-, subtract the $3200 i paid in interest and I am still over $12K ahead of the game.

PS, I am not going to say how much I make but I will tell you that I have over $10k a month in car payments. That does NOT include my commercial fleet vehicles for my company.

Consider yourselves lucky you don't live in Australia!

Car loan interest rates are around 7-8% as well.

Agree with this 100%, but it requires a person invest the 110k rather than spend it (using your example). IMHO, the argument to pay this item in cash is a personal justification of the cost of the vehicle rather than a detailed analysis of the costs involved.

For example, "If I can scrape together the $75k for this car, I can have it,," rather than, "Is the cost of this vehicle commensurate with my income and other debts?"

You Ausie's get screwed on the front end and the back end lol. Your cars cost like $25% more than ours and your financing is 50-100% higher, that is just nuts for me to wrap my head around.
