2011/2012 Coupe differences?

Hi folks,

Just registered, been doing some research as I'm getting ready to buy a C63 Coupe and I'm getting a bit confused about something. I kept coming across good theards on this forum so I thought someone might be able to help!

So I've read that the C63s got a facelift in 2012 and received the new gearbox which is effectively an automated manual (I think they were a genuine automatic before that? with a torque converter)?

What I'm unsure about though is whether the 2011 Coupe's had the new box and other revisions e.g. to the suspension and dash? Or did they do a year of Coupes before they revised them too?

I keep seeing 2011 Coupe's up for sale here in the UK and I'm not sure whether to avoid them or not, because I definitely want the new type transmission.

Would appreciate any clarification.

Thanks,
Rich

i'm going to assume that the 2012 model in NA was a 2011 in the UK.
but, all coupes are FL

Thanks guys. So any '2011' Coupes are nominally 2012 models and will have the new gearbox & other facelift features?

I would assume that if it's a coupe, then it is also a facelifted model, and if it's a facelifted model, then it must have the new gearbox! But I'm not sure what the story differences are in UK vs NA

HammondR for Richard Hammond? Lol!
And yes the coupe only came with the facelift. 2011 in Europe, 2012 in NA.
MCT came standard with the facelift model as well.
One thing with that transmission is it is prone to overheating (limp mode) at track.
Welcome!

My coupe smells burnt after I've driven it hard in S+ or M.

Is this normal ? Lol

2013 C63 Coupe P31, waiting on W205 Coupe S
2012 was first year for coupe in US - facelift styling
2013 had the updated COMAND interface colors in white (vs. beige in previous years)
