I just got the boxes and AFE filters from ECS. Definitely the cheapest I could find for both. AND i did check OEdiscountparts - ECStuning is cheaper...

What are the real numbers as far as HP gains with the ROW boxes? I know the filters will help it breathe, but what are the ROW boxes really doing?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Honestly it's marginal at best you aren't going to get big gains like you do from a tune or headers but it does feel like the throttle responds faster to me anyway

I just called ECS and the ROW boxes are not in stock, and neither are the AFE filters. I'm being told 15 business days total to receive them. I'm a bit apprehensive on ordering an item like the ROW boxes without any real numbers to show, however the filters I will order, just from someplace that has them in-stock. Any info would be awesome.
Cheers

Thanks Rentzington,
I am looking to dyno the car in the next week or so, but would like to have filters first. ROW boxes would be great to have, but if the gains are real then what's the point?
I do have the V5 EC tune so I can do a stock pull, then a pull with the Tyne, and then a pull with the mods. Its just the mods will be minimal as I don't have much else to go Install at this point.
I read on the forum about an oil somebody did some testing on, but I can't remember which oil it was. I'm wanting to try it before I do the dyno as well. Does anyone know the oil I am talking about? Thanks for the info.
Cheers

I just placed an order for the AFE Pro Dry S filters, as a pair, part number AFE 31-10195, for $138.74, then they gave me a $10 promotional discount, which brought it to $128.74. There was sales tax, but $139 is definitely better than the best price ECS or anyone else has. Just trying to help the brothers and sisters out here.
The normal part number is AFE 31-10154, which is for a single filter. The part number above is for both filters. Good luck.
Cheers,
Howie

Removing the carbon filters, my car responded with a CEL lean bank 1 and 2. This went away after a few start cycles of the motor as the fuel trims adjusted. In my humble opinion, if the carbon filter removal is enough to trigger a CEL, then it is a measurable difference in airflow restriction. From what I have read it looks like the HP gain is 2-5 hp. Sometimes a bit more. Personally, I like the idea that the ROW airbox is a factory MB part, not some warm air intake cooked up in someones garage.

I had my carbon removed and never got a cel but others have, seems like a crapshoot
