Sports Mode Knob
I just picked up my nice 2013 C63 AMG on Friday. Only 14K on clock. Just been serviced also etc. 2nd day in during many blasts around the sports mode knob would not illuminate when I started her up. Stayed in C mode obviously on the dash, but would not switch modes and was dead. Left it for half an hour and all was fine again. It seems a couple of others have had this problem. Wondered if it was a common thing or maybe as one other member said it was a faulty knob (maybe from a grubby other driver previously) and when replaced no issue. I wondered should I flag it up now to the dealer or see how it goes? It may be intermittent but if its done it once it sounds like a replacement would be wise under warranty?

Those knobs break easily. As anyone who has had the surrounding trim out can probably attest to, when you pull everything out, that knob assembly tends to seperate into two pieces. This leaves one side hanging by the ribbon cable inside, which is very easy to tear away from the circuit board inside. I was having an intermittent light for a few months, then the next time I took that console area apart, the ribbon just ripped completely. $150 part. Have your dealer look carefully at the ribbon cable inside that knob assembly, and I bet it's torn a bit like mine was at first.
