Hey, can i ask what dvd maps version u got with the car, yours would be one of the last W204 sold in Australia. So im going to assume it's at least the 2014 disc.
I posted a thread about trying to source the latest maps dvd as mb Australia want $700 for it which is taking the ****. I havent come across any reputable resellers and there is conflicting stories about whether the dvds are individually coded to each vin. Some say u can share them around while others say u cant.
In fact, im not even sure how one updates the maps, i know u insert the dvd, and it reads it, but r u expected to leave the disk in the unit? I know my current dvd isnt in the car and my nav works. Does the unit upload the new data onto the hdd?
Anyway, any chance that someone could organise to lend your dvd, if in fact it is the latest maps?

sorry to chime in but just thinking out loud (as my RS6 worked with burn't DVD maps)
if you wanna see what works, burn your own disk onto the right type of DVD disk and see if it will work, if that does send this dude a disk and see if he will kindly burn it for you

Im more than willing to pay for the effort. And i know there would be a few other aussie members willing to try it. Im more curious about the whole coded disk secrecy thing that mb have going on.
I know that some nav systems just upload files that are downloaded onto a usb. I'm just not sure about how this dvd update works. Is the dvd supposed to be left in the unit all the time? Or is it a one time upload and then remove? Ive read about how the laser can get burnt out from reading a burnt/copied dvd. If that's the case, then why isn't my dvd in my unit when i use my nav?

The easiest way i think would be to look at the dvd case and disk that you should have received with all your documentation. It is a grey dvd case and has all the official logos and whatnot for the navigation system etc. It should have some sort or numbering on the case or dvd

im more interested to know if the dealers were doing deals as i would assume that it being the last of the w204 models and with the new w205 due this year, that they would want to clear stock.
i know that they were doing 0% fiancing on plain c200 and c250 w204 cars as the w205 was already out and needed to clear them.
i also wouldnt mind getting numbers sold on the 507 wagon. doubt many of them were sold either

its interesting that they made a lot of the options from the '13 and '14 models, std on the '15.
all the 507 wagons ive seen dont have any options, no blindspot, no lane departure, none of the tech options at all. pretty much plain jane cars.
also, a question, u look like a pretty big guy, a lot bigger than me, im 180cm and 83kg, and ive found the drivers seating position, at best, snug. my brother has a b8 rs4 and that is a much roomier and more comfortable car to be in. whereas the c63 seems like im cocooned in the drivers seat. not much room to skitz out if i wanted to. im surprised u can fit in it comfortably

Great car.. only thing it has over the 507 is the dual clutch, upshifts and downshifts are crazy, so quick.

magno, quick question. when u put into reverse, the reverse camera, does it have the guidelines and animation to help with parking or is it just a blank image?
some of us with the older cars want to work out if its just a software upgrade/ issue that can be fixed with coding/settings.
otherwise, if its blank then its a no-no then

Congrats mate, Also from Sydney with a Magno 507. Initially I was talked out of getting the colour because of the upkeep
However persisted and ordered one anyway. So glad I did, stands out from any other colours..... it's actually less maintenance as there's no polishing ever ... just need to be cautious with contaminates getting on the paint, make sure if anything gets on just wipe it off right away.
I use these products, easy to apply and the car looks as good as it did 18 months ago![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hope that helps and hope to see you around Sydney.
P.S. I'm in the process of ordering a set of Cargraphic headers without primary cats + link pipe which comes with high flow cats, ping me if you are keen on more info.
Cheers
Mike
