anyone have experience running nitto tyres?

I'd venture to say the softer the compound, the better it will hook, and the faster it's gonna wear out. For example, I've ran several brands of drag radials on my old 04 Cobra, the Mickey Thompsons, and Hoosiers got better traction than nittos, but the nittos lasted longer, they were also harder compound, and they lasted better than the other softer drag radials. Is this really that complicated for you guys? I will go on the record and say the Continentals spun horribly, and one of the front tires developed a split all the way around it's circumference for no reason at all, and they are not cheap tires by any means, so that throws the whole "you get what you pay for" right out the window.
