can anyone tell me and possibly show me the exact differences between the stock air boxes and any of the aftermarket ones, preferably the ROW air boxes. thanks in advance everyone.
ROW boxes are the best (what im currently using) I've had carbonio ..they are meh ..pain in the *** (my MAFs always came loose due to a horrible design flaw) not worth the $1900+ price tag
Renntech makes the only Airbox that is Dyno proven on our cars. I gained almost 10 WHP from it. Search my posts i made a thread about it a few months ago. I also posted they Dyno graph.
thank you. I was more asking for physical differences between them.
ROW (Rest of world) is an OEM part. In Appearance they sit just a little higher than the stock U.S. ones and don't look any more different.
ROW is the best power & cost wise (450 with filters at ecs) my indy who has a p31 says ROW and carbonio are basically the same apart from the carbon fiber and price. Renntech has proven gains and looks mean but $$$
(Intake cover is a carbonio- got it off my indy who did a wesitec stage 3 on his and the cover didnt fit)
I could be wrong on this but I don't think the ROW air boxes would be considered an after market part, they are an MB part.
Yes, OEM on the non US cars (not sure about Canada). US ones are more restrictive especially since they have charcoal filters along with the air filter.
so the power difference for the ROW boxes probably just has to do with having no charcoal filters, "upgraded" MAF's, and maybe the black "mount" for the air filter(I'm assuming it causes a little restriction if any).

some good filters like afe or k&n, more air flow- the diameter of the inlet tubes are larger. On its own I don't think it'll help but it can complement bolt ons and a good tune.
AK want to sell me the cabon engine cover? eheheheh... The silver engine cover doesn't match the Renntech intakes
Funny the carbon doesn't really match my silver airboxes haha but really imma keep it I like the look! Would you believe that carbon benz star is actually a wheel center cap?
It's ugly but I read years ago that our boxes are not efficient because of the size (volume) is small for an engine our size. Renntech solved that problem with a very elegant intake. This Arma looks interesting. I would like to see it compared with the Renntech.
No, sir. Too lazy hahah... Most likely EUROCHARGED will be the sole vendor for us on the forums. They tested our W205 C63 Arma intake and the car gained about 20whp and 15 wtq without a tune. True story.
