The engineers here are all contemplating your numbers: '275's have 0.5" clearance on the inside to the suspension, and about the same on the outside' . . . and thinking 'He's got room for a whole inch more tire - 295's are only 3/4" wider - should be perfect!' :-)

You really don't need much clearance. On my rear tires, a piece of paper slides easily between the sidewall and the shock tube. A thin piece of cardboard does not. I've checked for rub marks after every track day and there is none.

Measuring clearances isn't easy, especially when you're looking at a big change in tire size, and ordering tires when you're not sure about the fit is iffy. I had the local shop mount up one of some generic tire of the right size that they had in stock, confirmed that the clearances were OK, and then compared specs of the 'generic' tire and the brand I really wanted to order.

Mazspeed, thanks for the pressure info. I'll try that at NCM. It will be cold though with temps between 35 and 50.

Regarding tire sizes. You really have to watch out for brand variation. I went from 295 Yokohamas to 305 PSC2s and they were definitely a full inch wider, even though they should have been less than half an inch different. PSC2s are wide.

I know know his is two years later , but I made the post about the upgraded cooling system . Best thing I ever did . It's the same as the black series cooling .
