Drivetrain loss ?
Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I put my C63amg (2011) non Perf pack on the dyno for fun.
All I have on it is a Eurocharged V3 tune.
The WHP came out exactly as eurocharged claimed (399hp at the wheels and 349 torque). and I noticed the difference from stock immediately after the tune.
On their site they mention the stock WHP is about 330-335.
I never really paid attention to the numbers but I'm curious to know if this is actually true because it seems like a rather high drivetrain loss if the STOCK crank 451hp becomes 330 at the wheels and the claimed eurocharged 540HP crank becomes 399 at the wheels. (a little over 25% drive train loss, I may be calculating it wrong).
Can someone enlighten me on this one ?
Thanks in advance !
Eric

I think most people use 15-18% loss. It also depends on what dyno you use. Mustang dynos tend to read lower. I think 360 whp is what many people make stock. I made 425 whp on a dynojet. With 18% loss, thats about 520 bhp. I think 540 bhp is a bit optomistic.

Dynos are very picky and should only be taken as a rough estimate. It depends where you live, elevation, humidity, type of dyno, what you had for breakfast and whether you happened to breathe during the test or not....

Hi INS1GNIA,
Yes I'm aweare they upgrade free but since they are really far from where I am, I need to pull the ECU ahd ship it back and forth which is costly (from Canada to Texas and back), takes about 4-5 days even with UPS express and costs about $300.
I never really knew it it was worth it to do it.
I'll give them a call ans ask about the c urrent version, maybe they can send me a handheld unit to do the flash myself here.
Thanks for reminding me.
