Anyone import from Canada?
Is this too good to be true?
http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Mercedes-...a/19_8559135_/
I only live about 2.5 hours from Vancouver BC so I could go check out the car in person, if it isn't a scam.
If it isn't, is it difficult to bring it back to the states? Anyone have experience driving one back into the US?
Thanks guys.

i wondered if Americans might start to look up here for cars with what's happened to the exchange rate lately. We were doing just the opposite when our dollar was worth more than the U.S. Dollar a few years ago.
Let us know how it goes.

It's such a drag, I don't even want to bother buying parts online for the time being.

Why is this guy calling this car a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black? This car is not black, and it sure the heck ain't a BLACK SERIES
I am actually in Vancouver, and I can go look at it for you if you want.

Holy what a deal u guys would get buying here. Dollar is down 25-30% and the cars were priced very similar when the dollar was par.
I should sell mine to someone in the states. With all the mods, you'd get the car for free lol.

In 2011 I bought my C55 in Toronto and had no trouble bringing it back across the border. The one main certificate you need to have is a letter from MB-Canada (not a dealer) that states that all of the DOT and EPA regulations are met and none are out standing. I understand they all have been the same since 1989. At the border customs will look at the car and verify that it does display MPH and that the emergency light for a brake problem will light up with the ignition turned on.
I also brought a Federal Mileage certificate and bill of sale that we filled out and had notarized before attempting to cross the border. The great part was that I estimated the duty tariff to be around $421 and the agent said 'don't worry about as it is only about $20'. I left with no questions and hurried home!
Now a warning: be very courteous and nice to the crossing agents as they are Federal employees and sometimes have a burr in their A$$ which can make things ugly for you. BTW, I trailered mine across on a U-Haul trailer as I had no plates but did have insurance, JIC.
Good luck with your purchase....

Good luck with that as getting the letter from MB-Canada will be very tough. They are sticklers about gray market European cars....won't even let a Canadian import a SpecR VW in!
If you really want one that bad, then build one here. A friend of mine has done just that to build his own Audi RS4 wagon which included both rear quarter panels, front fenders, and other body parts, then install a 2.7 twin turbo motor and six speed. So now he has the only one here in the USA!!
