CEL...white smoke, car running very rough

Spoke with service manager at Salisbury this morning. It looks like I'm going to receive a remanufactured long block if they have one available. All new internals, etc. I'll get a new long block if they do not have a remanufactured one available. Total cost of parts, just parts, according to the service manager......$36,000.
I'm picking up a loaner on Saturday and will likely have it for 30 days. I'm going to look up the part number to ensure they use the updated head bolts.

Per review of the TSB Valvestud so graciously posted, the head bolts part numbers are:
1) N 000000 005754 (quantity 4)
2) A 156 016 07 69 (quantity 20)
Is this correct? Thanks!

So after approximately 2 months, I'm back in my C63. New motor with updated headbolts (built in Germany and shipped to the US), new manifolds, new primary and secondary cats. All covered under the CPO warranty.
I have 11 months of CPO warranty remaining and face a tough decision. Keep the car or sell it. My thoughts on the issue change by the day.

My 2011 isn't really...
Yesterday, while looking at youtube vids about DIY oil changes on my 2011 SL63 I found out about the defective head bolts and how to determine if mine is an affected model (http://mbepc.net/). I have a mere 34K miles on it and other than a sticky throttle at tip in has been nothing but a beautiful machine, in and out. Once I found out how to find my engine serial number I looked it up and, yep, it is bad news. My point in writing this is that among the info that is provided by the site that gave me the number is the date the car was manufactured. that date was in November of 2009. Now I can understand and remember when most auto manufacturers introduced the next model year somewhere around the fourth quarter of the previous year but to call mine a 2011 when it isn't seems a bit deceptive. That is, unless the reason is they are called "hand built" (hand assembled is really more accurate I think) is because that process takes much longer than building the car in its entirety and thus would avoid a potential backlog because the engine hasn't yet been made.
The fact that mine has shown no signs or symptoms of the inevitable failure, which from what I've read can come at any time, offers me no solace but instead has put me in the group of those owners who need to decide which of the Hobson choices to now make. Sigh.
