From the factory, Mercedes AMG vehicles with the US Spec M156 engine are equipped with a mass air flow sensor housing that has a restrictive profile. Non US Spec M156 airboxes, commonly nicknamed ROW Airboxes (Rest of the World) are manufactured with a much higher flowing mass air flow sensor housing profile.
Installation is quick and simple as the ROW Airboxes are a direct replacement for the factory US spec airboxes. Upon starting the engine it will be apparent that the engine is breathing more freely as it will have a more aggressive sound note, better throttle response, and improved power band.
