Ernst, looks like the price increased 400$ from the first GB which is not bad IMO, the badass look makes it all worth it at the end.

I'm ready to bet those are 20's face with 20's reverse lip. All I'm saying is 19's VS-xx & BBS LM's looks small especially with aggressive flares. U can ask member Kriston, he's been there done that with his LM's & customs flares. But who knows, u might prove me wrong once all is said & done with ur car. Lol

Even with the increased cost. You know that these are produced and engineered in Germany by the HMS racing team. The hand work is meticulous and they are sturdily built with spot on fitment.
The first Group Buy took some time because of the month long holiday and the start of increased order volume on this hand made product. The lead time will be much better this time around and you will only need to factor in a few weeks for production, air freight and processing. So the faster we can fill up the 7 orders, the faster they will arrive. HMS Tuning is also aware of a second bulk order in the works so we're all prepared to get things moving.

Sounds to me like HMS didn't realize that there was that much pent up demand for rear fenders, and is now sticking it to everyone in the second GB by jacking the price. That's pretty ****ty.

That's what I thought at first too. Oh well, I guess it will all be worth it in the end.

19s reverse lip or 20s with stepped lip is perfect for our cars.
The price increase for a new addition to a line up is expected. At the current rate of production, it takes an entire weekend to make 2 sets of fenders by one person at HMS. Since they are not an off the shelf product, doing bulk orders by hand takes time and patience.
The perks of this group buy is beneficial to anyone who wants to purchase them at a significant discount rather going direct and at the same rate of time it takes to get them anyway.
Agreed Kriston. 20's just look too big for me plus you'd have to run a very thin tire. I actually like the look of a meaty tire far more than a rubber band (no offense to anyone who prefers this look).

AMG3.2 got his set off another member who decided to sell it. So far he's the closest to completion. All the fenders in the group buy order are in route and they should be receiving them shortly.

Jim, there are several well made wheels manufacturers aside from HRE. The below 3 manufacturers have years of motorsport history and are built extremely well.
Rays Engineering (Japan)
ADVAN Wheels (Japan)
WORK Wheels (Japan)
Local Brands (North American)
Velos Design
Rotiform
All of these manufacturers produce high end wheels and totally customizable for any application.

Kriston, I am familiar, in name at least, with all of those but have no hands on experience. I am doing some research, as you know, and trying to decide between a wheel with a lip or a concave wheel and a manufacturer. I will search for products by these and others but trying to narrow the field a little bit and trying to stay will reputable manufactures. Thanks for your suggestions and help.

And you can pick the color and finish from my understanding. I still really love these wheels!

I'll buy those at some point... I'm in love.

Mort,
Check out http://www.ssr-wheels.com/wheels/ssr.asp
All the brands mentioned; Volk/Rays Engineering, Work Wheels, Yokohama/Advan and SSR are all top tier wheels manufacturers - Made in Japan quality with strict JWL/VIA+ industry standards and the highest quality control and materials. Some of their "cast" wheels are stronger and more durable than some "forged" wheels.
Finding a one piece concave wheel will difficult to find in some brands in 5x112 / 66.6 center bore but they do produce them (Ray's, Advan, Work). If like a wheel and is not available in the right PCD. The last resort is doing a PCD redrill (5x114.3 to 5x112). They are VERY close to each other and running hub centric rings. It is completely safe and can be done here www.vrwheels.com - Ask for Andrew and tell him David from Chicago sent you.
For any multi piece wheel, they will be able to customize any bolt pattern and hub diameter.
There are tons of over night wheel brands out there but those brands mentioned are always the go to - besides HRE, BBS (Some models forged and produced in Japan).

Mort, I almost got the MRR FS01 which are built to order in any offset, and up to 19x11 I believe.

Great information, will give me lots to search through, maybe too much. I feel I am finally starting to get a feel for some of terminology and how it effects the look and strength of the wheel. Also an understanding of some of the manufactures we don't see much in here especially the Japanese.

The HMS Flares are in the house!
Ernst delivered my HMS flares and BS fender liners to Calais Maine and I drove down today and got them. A really great trip about 300 km (187.5 miles) and a beautiful sunny but cool day. So happy to finally get my flares. My package arrived in perfect condition. Thanks Ernst!
This project is probably not for the faint of heart or pocket book...lol
Landed Cost:
HMS Flares & BS Liners to USA ------- $2163US = $2977.28CDN
Delivery to Calais (To Home $331US) -- $187US = $ 252.00CDN
Gas & Drop shipping fee---------------- $50US = $67.00CDN
Customs & tax (13% HST)------------- $266US = $365.04CDN
Total parts cost-----------------------$2666US = $3661.32CDN
Installation Estimate------------------ $2300US = $3000.00CDN
HST 13%------------------------------ $299US = $390.00CDN
Total Cost---------------------------- $5265US = $7051.32CDN
and now just another $5000 - $10000 for wheels.....lol
As you can see being a Canadian we always have to keep a jar of Vaseline jelly handy...
Me
Have a great day guys and I will post results as they come in.

I'm so excited for u Jim.. This is going to look EPIC!
I agree the numbers add up fast & our weak dollar is not helping.
What scares me the most is finding a good Bodyshop to do this kind of custom work. And I'm super **** about wheel fitment, I would need to buy the right width & offset to make them flush to the fenders.. far from being an easy task.

I'm glad they arrived safe!
I wish I could have gotten the actual face value commercial invoice to you in time before you passed through customs. Anyway, for any customers ordering from Out of the U.S., contact me prior to actual delivery so we can work out the customs, duty charges accordingly to the actual product value.
It will be epic!
We are all learning in this thread of what it takes to pull this kit off with the right wheels/tires. This is definitely an advanced modification with many different methods to consider. But once the hard work is done, nothing can compare.

Just a few test fit pics for fun. I measured the fender arch to floor at 24 3/8" and the flare arch to floor at 25 5/8". The opening appears to be 1 1/4" higher than stock. The center of the flare arch to the outside of the fender is 2" outside surface to outside surface, the leading edge at bumper joint height is 1 7/8" and at the bumper/flare joint to the fender is 1 3/4".
