Man, it is a lot of work and a ton of expense to get Mercedes-Benz into to run 9s. With a Vette, you just throw on an A&A supercharger system and you're there.
Weistec is the go to shop if you want to take your Benz to the drag strip. They hold the majority of the records in the 1/4 mile

Def but not where nitrous is needed.. esp on such an expensive over the top build in this thread, makes u wonder just how much nitrous was really used.. Tuners never disclose ALL..

Thanks to all for the kind comments.
The W204 is a great car but was not intended for drag racing. As you may know many parts has been change and built to get to this point. To get a almost 4000 pounds car with it's original transmission to 9's is a big challenge. We were able to make low 10's without Nos with a nitrous program witch is richer in gas and less timing. But in this cars even change programs at this stage is complicated. We can definitely push the car further and a 9 is doable but maybe we have to play with the combination of dampers and pulley, a higher torque converter etc., and because is not a Chevy or Ford parts has to be custom made. This obviously is not cost effective for me.
So basically, in order to do a really good 60' you need instant power and a very good setup to put power down. And at this point Nos was our choice to wake up the blower. Thericker for me Nos is a power adder as any other and totally legal. Even a previously record that last a few years was done with nitrous. You could like it or not and I respect your opinion.
I welcome you to bring your car to the track and see if you can impress me.

JRcarts c63 blk series super leightweight reduced to 3500 odd lbs w/much bigger 4.5 liter blower & nitrous & e85 (not sure if he dumped nitrous in exchange for e85?) basically full on perpous built race car makes 1000+ whp & YOU beat him by .03 hundredth @ 9.72 & w/5 odd LESS mph.. JR ran 9.75 point being it takes a ton O' power to break into 9's period.
You're kidding yourself thinking u just needed a 100 shot to get a better 60' I'll never be truly impressed w/nitrous, as u can easily add 100-250-500+ whp with it to ANY car & run crazy low ET's w/super High Traps..
